I’m at a point where I have now watched a good amount of Jaden Hardy to see, he got good handle and can still improve it by tightening up which give another guy who you can actually pass the ball to and he can make a play.

He also has a soft touch and a quick release on his shot. Its going to make him a solid shooter moving forward as he improves on that. Same with scoring around the rim on layups. That soft touch will definitely help him inside.

These stand out to me the most about him. Haven’t seen much enough to judge if he’s gonna be a high IQ guard in this league but time will tell.

Not sure how soon he’ll be productive but I wouldn’t be surprised if he averaged 8-10 pts off the bench if given the minutes.

We will see, but it was a promising start.

Kevin Knox made the summer league first team in 2018. Summer league means close to nothing. A vast majority of the players there will never play 1 game in the NBA.

You look at the summe league MVP on the last 10 years and it's not impressive.

Josh Selby
Valanciunas
Glenn Rice
Kyle Anderson
Tyus Jones
Lonzo Ball
Josh Hart
Cam Thomas
Davion Mitchell

But yeah, good start even if the decision making was puzzling at times. Good thing that with Luka he won't have to take that many decisions. So it's not as big of a worry.

I think his closest comparison is Jordan Poole, he even carries the ball like him on fakes.
Needs a lot of development of course to improve his decision making, shot accuracy and passing.

Considering the combination of overall offensive ability and ball handling skills, Hardy may already be the fourth best in DAL behind Luka/Dinwiddie/Wood already.

He looks like he has the instincts to be the playmaker we need. Just needs the polish and experience. The stats are very impressive - minus the TOs. 27ppg, 4.8rpg and 4apg - with 54.9%, 42.9% and 94.4% shooting split and 4.6 TOPG over 5 games.

He needs chances. But he is imo a 2, and to get chances there atm when bullock, thj and dinwiddie takes all minutes wont be easy

Not sure why he isn't inserted in the lineup. I rather see Hardy try and make mistakes than watch THJ. It's clearly better for the future of the team and it's probably even better for the present.

Last I saw him I thought he was 2 years away from contributing, but watching his highlights and seeing his numbers in G league, I'm having second thoughts, the way THJ is playing, there is no reason Hardy can't provide minutes, especially when THJ screens for Luka up top and pops, Hardy can actually take it to the rim.

There's no reason to not at least try him. If we're not going to trade or sign someone, then we need to develop from within. For all the crap they get, at least Donnie and RC did that as seen with Powell, DFS, Maxi (and many other former Mavs). Hardy can be that guy they develop from within to become a meaningful player but they're not even giving the guy garbage minutes. How a guy like Pinson gets minutes over him is just dumb.
