Hey, maybe we can try to trade Derrick White for him.

puts up big #s in the G-league, but didn't seem to make any impact in training camp or preseason. I thought he didn't look like an NBA body -- too thin, no athleticism -- obviously if he surprises and becomes an NBA player I'd be happy to be wrong.

JD Davison +8 per game averaging 16/4.5/6 with 50/36% shooting on 11 FGA. Scoot Henderson the future #2 pick is +1.7 per game and averaging 21/4.5/6 with 48/47% shooting on 16 FGA. Not saying JD would have been a lottery pick this year but that is not too shabby a comparison for late second round pick.

Pretty good performance all around excepting he's been a turnover machine. With re: to Scoot, he couldn't shoot from 3 last year but he had decent PG metrics as a 17 year old playing against grown men. I'm all about JD and he's young for G league at 20, but 17 years old is a whole different ball of wax.

Scoot turns 19 on February 3. JD just turned 20 so they're just over a year apart.
They actually are fairly similar players. Scoot is just a little but better at pretty much everything, while being a little over a year younger. JD is an inch taller though and maybe a little better at throwing lobs.
Nobody is saying JD is better than Scoot. But even if JD ends up being almost as good, that's still tremendous value for a late 2nd round pick.

Sure like I said JD is still 20 playing in the G league - we can look at Scoot's year last year as a 17-18 year as a comparison to what JD is doing currently. Scoot's played 170 min this year so it's not that much to look at.
