Well done, a good loss like it was all written after 3 quarters, because of our coach

Trae having 25/10, but with 1/8 at 3pts and the worst +/- of -19, I don't if we will hear the "I didn't play well but I promise you to comeback stronger the next game" press conference

I like this player, but he has to get out of this thinking, and get motivated by reaching the top spot of the ECF, not by doing a great game after a bad one, and be motivated only for this next game before doing again a bad one

Murray was bad in this game. Too much dancing with the ball and then a fadeaway midrange. That's not gonna cut it particularly when he's not a 3pt shooter. I need him to drive, pull up, shoot.
If he's struggling shooting, I mrrd him to do a better job of running the team, grab rebounds and defend.

That clear path call was terrible.

It's the result of trying to define words to accurately describe a sports play.

Can't be a clear path if it's a play on the ball in the painted area.

Sorting out the good and bad from last night's game. Did I miss anything?

Good: AJ's offense as a starter for the first time.
Bad: AJ's defense as a rookie. :sour:

Good: Trae attacking the rim and finishing at the hoop
Bad: Trae's 3-pt shooting early in the shot clock or when contested

Good: Dejounte's help defense and deflecting passes
Bad: Dejounte's shooting was horrific last night

Good: Jalen Johnson's defense
Good: Jalen Johnson's 3-pt shooting

Good: John Collins getting quality shots early
Good: John Collins help defense

That's cool.
We need to do a better job of having these slow starts.

Hawks been getting by with higher fga per game by double digits. Not sure how they are doing it I'm guessing the opponent shoots so well they don't need the extra shots.

OO, Collins, JJ, and AJG came to play. Murray looked horrible out there on both ends. He has way too much usage mainly with the mid ranger but can't leverage fts from it.

Something to keep an eye on going forward. Trae and OO are the only ones that can get to the line on a consistent basis. I was under the impression DJM could do the same, but it doesn't look that way. Hunter is decent there too.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
