For a while there, Goodwin was giving us 85% of what Wright did, and it helped us win a lot of games. But now Goodwin is out too, so we desperately need Wright back.

I just hope when he gets back, Wes will finally do the right thing (Wright thing?) and start Delon Wright. It just makes so much more sense having his defense alongside Beal in the starting unit, and having Morris' game management skills to organize the 2nd unit. And Wright's defense with the starting unit is going to be even more critical if Avdija is hampered by that finger injury.

Yup, like I said we miss him like mashed potatoes and gravy!

Ok Thanksgiving was never a realistic target for his return anyway,
but it’s fair to hope for a healthy Devon Wright in time for a Merry Xmas.

Damn. The last report 6 days ago that Wright was "on track to be reevaluated this week" gave me the impression that he would be ready right around Thanksgiving. Now it looks like we're talking about mid-December or later.

I have the sneaky suspicion that the emergence of Goodwin is making them relaxed about Wright's return date...

Honestly, the emergence of Goodwin should be making Wright trade bait. Wright is exactly the type of player that good teams want to acquire at the deadline in preparation for a playoff run. And it helps that his cap number is manageable.

I'd rather trade Beal as that potential trade would likely have a much greater impact on our team
for the duration of Beal's contract. Wright is exactly the type of player good teams should
want to keep around. But as the saying goes, everything I own is for sale, for the right price.
Wright should only be dealt for a truly good return.

I’d prefer to trade Monte and keep the dawgs

Yeah, but Monte isn't a guy that playoff teams will pay for. He is the type of guy who gets played off the floor in the playoffs because his defense can be exploited.

I think Wright could land us a late 1st from the right team. Heck, someone like Golden State might give us Kuminga for him if they get desperate.

Like you, I like Wright better. But the bottom line is that neither Wright nor Morris are part of this team's future. So we should trade one or both for better future assets if the opportunity presents itself.
