Klay could get his 3P% above 40% again and threads like this one won't go away.
It will be even worse in the GB.
You're right, this was just a regular season game against one of the worst defensive teams in the league.
However, this performance was still reminiscent of Klay at his best, usually in tight games and down the stretch, he's taking and making big shots. Maybe he'll have more games like this, maybe he won't. But he has the potential to go off, which is what other teams have to fear.
Him and Curry are the only ones who can go super nova like this. Few other teams have one guy who can hit double-digit 3s in a game, let alone 2 guys. The way people were talking, those days were well in the past for Klay.
Every Warriors fan should hope that Klay regains the form he had against Toronto in the 2019 series. That was his best playoffs series ever, not individual games like OKC 2016. He was shooting well over 50% over defenders like Siakam and Kawhi.
Instead, people are whining about his salary and he hasn't even played one full season since returning from the injuries yet they're writing him off. Nobody said a god damn peep back in 2019 when they gave him that extension, even though everyone knew that he may never be the same with the Achilles.
Now everyone is whining about the worst contract ever and Klay having the gall to take shots.
It would be great if he gave them a big home town discount when his contract is up. Or, you want him to regularly go off for high 20s, 30s and some 40-point games the rest of this season and next season so that it will be hard to expect him to take a big discount.
In fact, I'd rather see him make the all-star team or even threaten all-NBA before his contract is up, rather than him continuing to struggle and fans demanding he be benched or traded.
