Wasn't there some NBA star or maybe an actor portraying an athlete. They were a foreigner who didn't speak English. And the only word they ever said was "ball".

Iove what we're seeing from Bol, didn't expect him to even be in the rotation so anything is a bonus.

I still don't see him as part of the core, I don't think his outside shot is real, his misses look ugly and his release is very slow, and the way he plays along with his frame makes him an injury waiting to happen,I hope I'm wrong about that.

Bye bye Isaac - bum of a contract.

For me, Bol is a Starter in this league will will be an allstar. Basically will come out of nowhere just like Jokic.

Since Bol is under contract next season, he'll likely take a very reasonable extension considering his injury history.

Hard not to. Sometimes I forget he's even on our team.

My point is he might take a reasonable offer and not risk being injured.

If he opts not to take the offer and gets another foot injury he may not make anything other than a minimal contract.

I'm sure Weltman will attach injury clauses.

Nobody negotiates thinking about being hurt , they all negotiate thinking their healthy and can contribute. Bol is showing potential on both end of the courts that will ring up big dollars for himself.
In a short amt of time he's shown he's the best rebounder, best rim protector and rapidly showing he might be their most impactful defensive player.
Both Paolo and Franz are impactful offensive players but on the offensive side of the ball here comes BolBol looking impactful there too. The big 3 are literally the big 3 ,Paolo,Franz, & Bol.

Weltman still will negotiate a good contract for the team.

From ESPN (probably before the last game:
This season, Bol has played more minutes (435) than he did in his 2½ years with the Nuggets (328).

(Bol) ... is the only player this season averaging at least 40% shooting on 3s and two blocks per game.

Bol is doing what people hoped Chet would do but with a cheaper contract .

Bol isn't in the same stratosphere as Chet as a prospect.

Bol's an actively bad defender who happens to block a lot of shots because he chases blocks.

Chet's one of the best defensive prospects of all time.

Nonsense.

Bol is averaging 8 RPG in 25 minutes per game.

Rebounding at a higher rate than Carter per minute.

Is he a good low post defender? No

Is Chet a good low post defender? No-one knows because in college he played with a really good low post defender.

It sounds stupid, but I would not trade Bol straight up for Chet.

I'm not sure what rebounding necessarily has to do with defense. They're separate things to me personally.

Bol's DRTG and Net Rating are both much worse than Carter's.

Bol does blocks a good amount of shots, but he also he chases a lot of blocks he can't get to, which ultimately gets him out of position often.

Chet was the better drop defender bigs I've ever seen in college.

Even with the unknown of Chet having suffered a serious injury before he ever stepped on the basketball court in an NBA game, I'd still take him over Bol because he's 3 years younger and under contract for 3 years longer than Bol.

Chet is easily the better prospect. At 2 and a half years younger and a more team oriented approach, there is no way you don't take Chet over Bol. That said, we have Bol and we're pretty damn lucky to have him. The more I watch (which is what this season is about) the more I view him are our super sub/6th man scorer. He's not better than Franz or Paolo and can't play big minutes at the 5 or 2 so to the bench he goes next season when we, hopefully, round out the roster. He could easily be a starter on another team but for us, he just isn't better than Paolo or Franz. I can see him be a 14-16ppg off the bench scorer for us if he can accept that role. Obviously we have more to watch and explore this season but that is where I see him if the roster fills out as well as I hope next year.

I can see him in a Bobby Portis type role, if he can improves on his lateral speed and positioning he can improve defensively enough to be worth starting on a contending team.

A super-sub isn't a bad trajectory for a player we signed for the cheap and is only 22 yrs old and got practically no playing time prior.
