Ridiculous. He's looking like a lottery pick and if it continues against stronger competition, he's probably a top 10 pick for me.

Great also to see Anthony Black having a great game. I'll still have to see him do it consistently because early on he was hitting his 3s which gave him confidence to be more aggressive with his shot, and later on the Louisville defense completely crumbled and then a player like him can pick a defense apart. Can he score efficiently and create consistently against better defenses? That's the question. But this game should give him a lot of confidence and hopefully it carries over into the next games, because he definitely is a talented player and fun to watch when it's clicking for him.

a lot of mouths to feed on that team so the raw scoring production might not be there every game, i have confidence in his shot i want to see his playmaking come to life because if he can be a legit 6-7 PG type who can also stroke it and defend he's a definite top 5 pick in my eyes

the reason i was so high on him coming in is b/c of his potential as a big PG in the Cade Cunningham mold

He had better EYBL stats than a lot of supposed 5 stars.

I like him a lot. We will see what happens, but I saw him as better than some of the late first round wings like Chris Livingston and Baba Miller.

black was impressive last night. nice size and he's a top notch passer. but his low, set shot release may be a problem. we'll see as the season moves a long how he goes.

is there a good dillon mitchell comp who has succeeded in the league? in terms of highly touted recruit who got by on athleticism in HS, but at the D1 level is limited to whatever opportunities his teammates create for him and hustle plays because he lacks ball skills and can't shoot?

assuming his season continues somewhat similar to how it has started? he's not really producing offensively outside of simply dunking the ball. averaging 7 ppg. but he is getting 7 rpg in just 20 minutes and playing defense. basically all athlete, good motor and good effort, but not displaying much skill at all with the ball or offensively. 3-10 FTs so far and in 4 games has yet to record an assist. i know there have been guys like that, but i'm sorta drawing a blank.

Maybe former longhorn Greg Brown? kendall brown, perhaps? granted, these aren't successful examples, but who are some others?

Gerald Wallace - maybe that's a optimistic comp for nba success. averaged 10 and 6 his freshman season and didn't show much outside of hustle and athleticism. Jarred Vanderbilt could be another.

again, all this assuming he remains mostly the same player he's been in the first four games.

Yeah Black looks good especially with his size. Whats up with Nick Smith Jr? any word on a return?

Another old prospect in the Iowa system putting up massive college production.

His twin better start playing better could hurt his draft stock.

Really hoping Walsh can get to my Grizzlies. Perfect complimentary forward especially if his shooting comes around at all.

Black’s certainly risen in my view. Playing without Smith Jr early on has helped him show what he’s capable of. He’s a better athlete than I thought he was and he’s obviously much better when he’s assertive. A slightly less cerebral but more athletic Giddey is super valuable. Not sure he’s on Cade’s level but anything close is a top 5 pick.

I still don’t rate Walsh. Don’t think his shot will ever come around. Scottie Lewis type.

FWIW, I actually think it's reasonable to think Black's ceiling is higher than Cade's. Sure, Cade was more well-rounded in his freshman season in college, but I don't think it's too crazy to envision Black's athleticism and defensive aptitude giving him an edge over Cade. I also think that his processing speed could be better than Cade's as well. The shooting is certainly something to monitor, but I'm extremely encouraged by what I've seen at this juncture.

I could be a prisoner of the moment. Only time will tell... but I've got Ant penciled in as a top 5 prospect right now.

Another great game by Anthony Black. He's surely making a case for himself after a rough couple games to start the season.
