I would of been fine winning if it was with Ivey running the offense. They took the ball away from him two games in a row to get a vet win. This will happen next game too. This is how a trend starts when your coach is D.Casey.
This is the biggest tank race since LBJ. Other teams will shut down players when the time comes if need be. Long term its a bearish win.

Ivey with a respectable 16 points 5 rebounds 6 assists and just 1 TO but he was actually the 5th leading scorer with 16 points is pretty crazy... just really scoring from everywhere tonight.
Bojan 23
Knox 21
Bagley 19
Burks 18
Ivey 16
Yep

Yep. We're still not going anywhere regardless and honestly, losing every game isn't an option like what the Bobcats did for the 2012 draft
We're going to scrape a few wins here and there. The world will be fine

Re: Pistons-Jazz (9pm PLUS)
My notes from the game:
1. Forced to watch the jazz broadcast. Probably the most boring duo in the league. So boring that they literally have the sideline reporter pretty much as a de facto commentator just to bring some energy. On top of that homers, who thought Duren killed Lauri. Was waiting for Jalen to go out in cuffs.
2. Bogi is so smooth. He is just a great basketball player.
3. Duren was gassed. Why does Bags not play in the 4th??
4. Ivey can get to the cup at will. I’m not saying he’s d-wade but it’s very wade-esque

Re: Pistons-Jazz (9pm PLUS)
The people crying about us winning this game (and yesterday's) is mind-boggling.
This is a young team full of 19-21 year olds. We can't just lose every game, team morale would be terrible and the lack of confidence would hinder player development hugely.
We're still on pace to win 20-25 games and easily be in the bottom 4 in the lottery.

And we had a 23 years old with the perfect body and skillset, being a big reason why we won both games, and people are complaining

If Knox can consistently play like he played the last 2 games, he's going to have a long NBA career, hopefully with us.

It's been fun watching Knox these last two games. I sure hope he's figured something out but he looked good in the preseason as well only to forget how to shoot from tbe outside for several games.
I need a much bigger sample size; especially given he's in like his 5th year in the league and still hasn't figured out his game yet.
Nice to see nonetheless.
Bagley actually looked dominant against the Jazz at times which was a nice surprise. I do think it's as much a commentary on how soft Utah is down low as it is praise for Bagley. Again, really fun to see that from MBIII.

KO is terrible on defense, he is not as dumb as Bagley, but he is slow and lazy. Bagley's issues are not on the offensive end tho, it's on defense.
And yes, let's hope Knox figured things out, I am not saying he is great, but he is athletic, long, and know how to shoot, those guys are premium in the league right now, so let's hope we found one of those players, and he continues to play well.
Inserting Burks and Knox in our 2nd unit and removing Hayes fixed all our issues there, even with CoJo

Re: Pistons-Jazz (9pm PLUS)
Couldnt watch the game and I looked early for a replay without luck.
Who was Bagley scoring his points against?
Did Duren look dominant against a tall thin PF and KO at C? Seems like he would crush.
I still dont have much hope for Knox but I've been wrong many times. Shooting is something that is hard to get better at, especially if it hasnt happened in the first 4 years in the league.

Casey wants to win games. If that means the bench plays as much or more than the starters, he does it.
This is something to look back on in a few weeks. Did Casey start the ball rolling with Bojan/Burks/Cojo playing too much. Stay tuned.

Re: Pistons-Jazz (9pm PLUS)
I’m still reasonably confident we won’t end up outside of the bottom three- our vet squad of Bojan, Burks and Cojo isn’t enough to beat most teams.

Re: Pistons-Jazz (9pm PLUS)
wasn't able to watch after the first quarter and a bit but glad we got the win. i'm 100% on board with the team running the offense through bojan and burks (and cade if/when healthy) down the stretch and hopefully we just sprinkle in some possessions where ivey makes plays and see how it goes. ivey will eventually need consistent reps in those situations but i don't think there's anything wrong with him observing the vets there in the meantime.
to the people that want wembanyama - we're still tied for the best odds to get the first pick and still will be even if we move up a couple spots in the standings.
