And you seriously believe higher ups in the league don’t whisper in their ear? This reminds me of Kings-Lakers 2002

I think it might be to late by the end of December , we don’t have much time on our hands before trade deadline and possibly KD asking out again

Btw what’s with Yuta being out every second game , if he needs to heal , let him heal instead of playing every second game

A lot of the foul calls on Simmons this year have been suspect. Not sure what issue the refs have with him.

Every year there is surprise team that going to over achieve. This year it's Indy. They got several players that being motivated along with up and coming All Star in Tyrese.

We are a bad coached team and our record speak values here.

Indy really beat us 3 times. Humiliating.

Our defense is just so bad. Like beyond repair.

Its really unclear what the issue is to me at this point? Coaching? Talent level? Effort?

Like why do we constantly get destroyed by other teams in the 4th Q. Makes no sense and has been the case for the entire KD/Kyrie era.

Is the season lost?

No.

But its getting close. We need to find answers quick. Because this piss poor defensive effort is not going to lead us to wins.

He is obviously being targeted.
He has fouled out of more games since his return this year than all 4 of his previous playing seasons.
I'm sure he and the Team are aware of what's going on.

There are 2 reasons for this loss-Vaughn's rotations and KD privatizing the game. There is a too big of a disbalance between the first and second unit, both offensively and defensively. Vaughn needs to make some adjustments.

Guys guys, everyone chill. Harris is abysmal and should be benched permanently, he hurt us a little but this game was lost at the FT line. Nets got no calls on the other end. These refs seriously need to be investigated at this point. Let’s take a chill pill, recoup and hope they get rolling. Harris has to go though

Vaughn needs to play Sumner. We don't need to play all 3 of Mills, Curry, and Harris. Having Kyrie and Curry in the backcourt together hurts defensively.

Simmons/Irving
Curry/Sumner

I think the Claxton/Simmons line up can work. But we need to get another big in here for rebounding.

Except for what I understand "privatizing" to convey, I'm pretty much of a similar opinion.

I believe that KD cannot come off the floor with this current team. It's seemed the same regardless of how much he's shooting or scoring. Hopefully when we add TJ to Kyrie and Ben this can change in the near future. I was surprised in the Toronto game to see that JV actually adjusted the substitution pattern starting the fourth quarter after the second quarter disaster. But it might have seemed better only because Kyrie went ballistic. In any event, with KD out to start the second, we lost 13 points in three minutes. This has happened to some degree in almost every game. Last night we lost 8 points immediately but recouped somewhat and it wound up only a four point loss for the 2d quarter. In the fourth quarter we went from a six point lead to a 3 point deficit in three minutes, and had to return KD early. For some reason Kyrie, our only other threat, was out at the same time.

I've somewhat questioned JV's hockey substitutions. I do not believe our bench players have been good enough to put in en masse. And I think we have paid for going too small and we definitely need another center. But I do not discount the possibility that no one fears this team when KD is off the floor. And the fact that, when he is, one or two more defenders are then freed to concentrate on stopping everyone else.

I’m not panicking after 9-11 start, if we can somehow win 5 of 7, we will be 14-13

I agree, Sumner is 6’6 and a difference maker defensively. I think as time passes, he will get more minutes. To be honest, I’m gonna back track from my OG post on this topic after watching the game; three adjustments will go a long way, Harris doesn’t play and gets traded, refs started calling **** fairly and we get an interior big to help this team. Harris/Mills are both negatives

The defense seems to be just a collective effort. We don't know how to play team defense.

I don't think Simmons/Claxton/KD or even O'Neal are poor defenders.

Its like the team itself can't seem to play together. Nash really did **** nothing to instill defensive principles.

You hope that with more time playing together we can figure it out. But I'm really not sure anymore.

Weve basically had this issue for 3 years. Some way we need to figure out how to play good defense together. You see it for some games. Then others it just disappears.

I think Joe Harris is also a shell of himself.

I think its time to trade him or play others. Maybe the young guys.

Duke Jr and Edwards are not all word defenders. But they are high energy and effort guys that can help.

Tired of these bench lineups that just get destroyed on defense every time. Harris/Mills can't keep up.

And Harris's shooting is so terrible teams don't even guard him anymore.

Because there’s no bench. They’re worn down by the 4th. Marks needs to get a center and trade one of the midget guards for a taller player.
