Re: GM 20: Sixers vs Magic
I couldn't be more happier for Shake Milton. I've been a long time supporter of him and I can promise that this has nothing to do with me being right about anything because things like that don't matter to me. His emergence as our lead guard has been just absolutely epic for us! His passing, vision, all just vastly improved. Nearly had the triple double tonight and he played some good defense as well and made plays on both ends of the floor. I think we all knew how talented he can be, we certainly all knew he could play in this league and what a blessing it's been not only having him, but Melton as well. Of course I miss Maxey and Harden and they need to get back asap if we're going to be serious this year about contending, but mad props to both Shake and Melton for keeping us above water while they're out. Honestly if we can just get Embiid back for a little while, we might be able to reel off a nice little win streak. But man! Both Shake and Melton are playing with supreme confidence right now and I really hope this carries over to when they both go back as reserves. I think this is what was actually needed in order for our bench to improve and become what we all know it can be. They've had to face adversity and do things that they aren't used to doing and I honestly think they'll be better because of it. Love this team! So glad we got the W. Lets get the other one on Sunday. Orlando is tanking for Wemba anyway. They want to be the first team to have an all 6'10 or taller starting lineup.

That’s basically the bread and butter
I do think the original starting 5 is very flawed
Melton plays well with anybody as sort of the connector between whose turn it is on offence.
Never like the Harden/Maxey duo but Melton and either or? That’s very good imo.

There’s an art to tanking. Magic is doing it by 6’10 and above line-up.

Remember during the preseason our second unit actually played better than our starters. We got a lot of deflections, while the ball was moving and there were a lot of 3s.
Im not saying second unit is better but they played better

He doesnt have a role when we dont play against top wings like Giannis or KD.

While everyone comfortably zigged, the Magic zagged into 7 PF/C who can't play well with each other. What a weird mess down there with a ton of talent.

Another solid bench win. Definitely should stagger Maxey and Harden. We have depth now that Melton and Milton are hitting their next level. This was a blessing in disguise.

If Orlando is going to play these wacky lineups, the only way they thrive is to block everything and gang rebound the hell out of the ball. But they’re just okay in both categories: ninth among all teams.

Replace Suggs with Cole Anthony. Im not a fan of Suggs.
And replace Bamba with WCJ. WCJ has a higher bball IQ.
Cole Anthony
Wagner
Paolo
Bolbol
WCJ
Clunky depends on guard play
If Magic want to push giant line-up..
Wagner
Paolo (must improve shooting)
Isaac
WCJ
Bolbol
Wagner and Paolo should be better shooters and continue their uptrend as playmakers.

Yeah this team desperately needed someone who can create for others behind Harden.
Milton in the past has been too careless with passes and his handle to be that guy if he can cut down the mental mistakes and turnovers then there is a big role for him as a sixth man even when everyone gets healthy.

He looks scared to shoot that corner 3. I saw him pass it up multiple times in Orlando and his teammates aren't even really looking for him anymore.
I don't know what it is for me I kind of wonder how much all these minutes and how much energy he exerts on defense is affecting his legs. I'd like to see him playing closer to 20mins a night coming off the bench and see if that helps a bit.

Shake needs big mins as our 6th man/backup PG from now on. Just hope he can stay healthy.

Re: GM 20: Sixers vs Magic
Jalen Suggs needs the G-League.
43.9% of his FGA are threes this year. And this is a guy who is trying to figure out how to shoot. The NBA is not the place to figure out how to shoot on the fly. All you're doing is tanking your value in front of your teammates, coaches, and fans.
Go to the G-League and shoot 6 threes a game while you try to learn to shoot.

I think it’s more of an on ball problem and a defensive shortcoming than anything else. The second unit has way less overlap/saturation so it looks seamless sometimes regardless of result.
I do think Maxey should end up as our 6th man run and gun style with Reed/Harris or Niang as the trail 3 and be our Lou. Doc would have exp in that setup in the Clippers days
Embiid/Harden turns things to a snails pace and that isn’t Maxey’s game. He has volatile scoring which is good because I do wish to see both Embiid/Harden getting low 30 mins a night and Maxey the most when he’s hot.

I think they're hoping more for a Jrue Holiday type with him. If he can develop a jumpshot, he already has strong defense and quality playmaking.

Also hope Doc is smart enough to actually play him. If doc can get over being wrong about Reed, he might get some time too. That guy gets a lot of fouls but he grabs rebounds he is disruptive and he plays hard all the time.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

I think Tucker plays that placeholder starter like Kevin Looney or Kedrick Perkins before.
Then we’ll have a super sub squad of Melton, Milton, Niang and Reed.
Then we’ll end some games with our starting unit, and sometimes one or two of our supersub squad replaces our starters.
But for now, we’re not there yet. We’re just establishing the super sub squad.
Then like last season, I’d expect Doc to let our team be in a lot of late game crunch time situations where he can learn which 5 man units he can use to end certain games.

Props for Shake's string of great play over 5 games when called upon, but it's also November and we didn't play many tough teams other than Milwaukee so let's not get ahead of ourselves. He still has been pretty disappointing as a Sixer and has a ton left to prove.
