How many of you would roll the dice with this scenario:
Simmons for Dlo, Naz, and Nowell
Bring up Garza and Moore

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I'd do it, we might lose all 3 of them next off season anyway.
I still believe Simmons is a valuable player but the spacing would be so crazy with him and Gobert. It'd be zone city for all 29 teams against us.
I'd try to go for Kyrie or a scoring point

Add Seth Curry and a first and you might be close. Problem is Simmons is a headcase. I would move him to team 3 and get a return that is more dependable.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Eleven): 2022 Offseason Edition
So what do we do when Ben Simmons decides he doesn’t like Minnesota?
Setting aside the giant salary, the injury risk, the mental health risk, and the giant flaws in his game that he has not seemed interested in fixing since he entered the NBA, and adding a non-shooter with Gobert on the court, and you still have a guy here that will literally not play if he doesn’t want to, regardless of a contract!
You want this guy in Ant’s ear?

I think the ship sailed on Simmons when we brought Gobert in. I don't know how those 2 ever share the court together.
The upside/downside range is way too risky imo, because the upside probably isn't that amazing, but the downside is the team is an absolute catastrophe and everybody is depressed and wants to be traded.

Re: Trade Talk (Part Eleven): 2022 Offseason Edition
The Warriors could use a third big, and despite his good play, Naz seems to have fallen out of the rotation, and is only protection in case one of our star centers gets hurt.
Would it be worth it to trade him to GSW for Patrick Baldwin Jr (#28, 2022 draft)? He’s not ready to help this year, but we could let him develop in Iowa, to maybe overcome having less youth in the future?
(I guess I’m always looking for a trade candidate to a team who has minutes for a second or third big).

I'd love to re-sign Naz to team friendly deal, but if we cant negotiate contract extension, I'd do Reid, Forbes for DiVincenzo

I would rather do Rivers, Forbes, Reid for Moody and Baldwin Jr. get two young promising prospects to join the Ant timeline. Meanwhile we open a roster spot for another PG, and use Garza as C depth.
1st year players: Moore, Baldwin Jr, Minott
2nd year players: Moody, Lawson, Garza
3rd year players: Ant, MCD, Knight
4th year players: JMAC, Nowell
Resign Nowell or move him, but this is your young core.
Meanwhile you have everybody else as your vets.

I am long DDV fan, so dont pay much attention. I know nothing about Moody and Baldwin, but my thinking behind Reid, Forbes for DDV was following: we need PoA defender and someone who can handle, pass the ball a bit better than Okogie. DDV can play this role of the bench. He was one of the best NBA defenders in fighting through screens. This type of defense + Gobert might unlock our drop defense, allowing us to shut down opponent in certain matchups.
Gobert/Towns + Garza
Towns/Anderson/Knight + Minott
MCD/Prince/Moore
Edwards/Nowell/DDV + Lawson
DLo/JMac/DDV/Rivers

How about a trade for T.J. McConnell? I view him as an upgrade to JMac. Can we make the salary work?

Gobert is a better player than AD at this point in their careers, and is also more durable.
lmao.

Talk to me at the end of the season. The last two years Rudy was much better than AD and much more durable. I expect the same to be the case this season. If AD sustains this, then obviously yes, he is better. But I don't think he can. I also think Rudy is performing as poorly as he can, and he is still the best player on that Wolves team.

We need to change up something. Edwards is jaw-dropping bad defensively in terms of rotations and simply understanding a defensive possession. Having him with the Lazy D'Angelo Russell and the constantly out-of-position Towns is horrific which will be exploited by all the best teams in the NBA.
As the team views Edwards as untouchable and Towns is ineligible to be traded this season due to his contract extension, Connelly needs to change up something this season for the year to not be a waste. Acquiring a competent Point Guard is extremely difficult but something--anything--needs to change.

Agree completely, but it'll be hard to send out DLo and get back something that makes sense without sending out even more draft assets, which Kahnelly should be banned from doing

We'll give you Kessler and your 2023 first round pick back for Gobert...

would think Russell could be moved without attachments if Wolves are taking back a multi year contract another team doesn't want (Bertans, D Robinson, Fournier off the top of my head) as part of a larger deal

Re: Trade Talk (Part Eleven): 2022 Offseason Edition
I think its time to trade D'lo and Kat. Build around the players that actually have heart and want to on the team.
They are Ant, McDaniels, Nowell, J Mac, Naz. I love Minott and Garza as well.
You still have Gobert, Anderson, Prince and Rivers to lead the way as vets.
Whenever this young group plays together, the flow of the game is better, we either build leads or reduce deficits and they are enjoyable to watch. Watching the Iowa Wolves is even more enjoyable at the moment because they play fast team basketball.
Whenever KAT and D'lo come on the court, it all goes to **** again and brings the mood of everybody down. You don't want players like that.
What can we get for these 2 players?
I don't think we need stars, we just need more players with drive and heart. Look at the Jazz at the moment.

Towns can’t be traded until offseason.
