Re: 2023 NBA Draft
he's getting better and better.
That 1 legged 3 was insane. That type of shot, i don't even know who else I've seen make a shot like that in a game, other than Steph. And Victor is doing that at 7'5" and only 18 yrs old. It's nuts.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Is it far-fetched that Wemby ends up on the Pels playing alongside Ingram and Zion?

I hope not. They would be too tough to stop!

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Remember the name. Trevon Brazile.
If he keeps playing well this season, he'll likely be gone before our pick. But I think he could be perfect for us so hoping he somehow falls to us..
Arkansas has 5 dudes who could get drafted - they're definitely a team to watch.
Brazile projects as a 5 who could also play some at the 4 here and there in a double big lineup. He can be a roll man, he's a good lob finisher, he can shoot from 3 decently well and attacks closeouts decently well, runs the floor well - can finish in transition. High motor. Rim protector, had a bonkers 9.9% blocks rate last season as a freshman. Pretty versatile defensively. Plays with a toughness, a swagger to him. Good athleticism and bounce - got WAY up above the rim to catch a lob and throw the dunk down in Arkansas' last game.

I told ya'll to remember the name!
Unfortunately, since he's playing so well, he'll probably go before our pick..

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Really starting to like Berke Buyuktuncel as a draft and stash pick.
International player and just turned 18 so will turn 19 next September, making him one of the youngest players in the draft class. Those 2 things combined make him a good draft and stash pick.
Not to mention he's a guy who is unlikely to go round 1 - but looks like a solid 2nd rounder.
Also, good size at 6'9". He's rugged, built strong.
He's tough, fearless. Good defender who can defend inside as well as the perimeter.
Can knock down the 3. Good passer.
Kind of like an 18 yr old version of Grant Williams - but if Grant was 6'9" instead of 6'6".

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
I knew Portland had a good record so far but I’d forgotten how that impacted the Celtics’ draft. I’d sort of penciled them in as having a top-half of the second round pick.
C’s currently sitting at #50, #58 and #60 in 2023.

Very well, he's been their second best player (despite the fact that Hugo Besson, the last pick from the 2022 draft is also on the roster). He's scoring 15 points per game (with 10 minutes quarters) on 51% shooting, 42% from 3 (5 attempts per game) and 92% from the line. Almost 5 assists and 2 steals. Team is 8-0 when he plays. Tough to stop his pick and roll game with Victor. The guys that are quick enough to stay in front of Waters are definitely not tall enough to contest Wembanyama and vice versa. So you can't switch but if you go under, Waters will make the pull up. If you drop, Victor will just get in behind for the lob. There are no good answers there (as I suspect NBA teams are going to discover pretty quickly). His lack of size doesn't matter as much defensively because there are fewer guys that are athletic enough to just go right through him. The rest of the time he competes, he's usually in the right spots, he has quick hands and besides Wembanyama can clean up a lot of stuff.
He's just a really good basketball player that's too small for the NBA. Always has been and will have a long and productive career as a pro overseas as a result. Unlike say Carsen Edwards who is not only too small for the NBA but just plays a losing brand of basketball so the step down in competition really hasn't helped him get back on track (103 FGA, 9 assists, 20 turnovers so far is just gross).

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
Jalen Wilson might be around top of the 2nd round, he can be a nice big 3, needs to work on his 3 point shot but a really smart player who plays with a ton of effort and has really improved alot. Sure he can get his 3 point percentage up in few years. Could be a nice 3 and D guy eventually, good passer and rebounder and can drive to the hoop though only average athleticism for the NBA. 6'5.75 without shoes, important part of the national championship team last year.

Would take Marcus Smart over everyone on this list except Durant, Morant, and Ingram.

Yeah. Wilson is certainly a guy to keep an eye on. Could be a solid 2nd round pickup.

Wild and meaningless stat alert but since he entered the league Marcus has appreared in more playoff games (88) than Durant (82).

All three of Smart, Jaylen, and Tatum are in top 10 in playoff minutes since JB was drafted. Tatum leads the league in postseason minutes since he was drafted. Impressive considering the dominance of the Dubs and Lebron in this era. The trio just needs a title hehe.
