Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
Mobley is far from a 3pt shooter but has been making timely 3s against us
Of course he does

14/26. If it's not one thing, its another with this team.
Oh well. At least there was effort, making it watchable, and a decent watch.

So it looks like Knox has fallen back down to Earth. At least he had a flash in the pan for the last couple of games?

Out of the last 2 time-out's we've gotten Bey thinking he's Kobe. That is on Casey.

Yep. All things considered this game was lost at the FT line.

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
Our defensive effort was good but we went ice cold down the stretch, and we missed a ton of FTs this game.
Not surprising we get the L here with who we were missing but we for sure had a chance if we executed a little bit better and we made an NBA average amount of FTs.

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
This should've been a win really. Cavs were cold from 3PT range which we defended well. Undone by missed FTs and offense going cold in the 4th quarter.

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
Not winning many games if we're shooting like this aka no spacing and not making FTs when the FT disparity was basically even
But the fact that we kept it close against this weird Cavs team is a good thing. I wonder how this team will integrate with the rest of the starters

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
Another good game from both Killian and Bagley. Clearly the offense ran best with Killian handling the ball and Bagley basically neutralized Mobley. 14-26 from the line made the difference.

Look at it this way, our starting lineup today might be our bench next year and they took this good team to the wire

Honestly, who knows what this team will look like at the start of next year with trader Troy around.ComboGuardCity wrote:Look at it this way, our starting lineup today might be our bench next year and they took this good team to the wire

Wait and see. I've seen this played out in the past years only for it to not translate once we got our healthy guys back again and the guys that did step up were having their roles reduced and no more green lights
Sometimes for guys to play better, they just need more minutes and green lights to do so. It's hard to do that and stay in rhythm once you're back relegated to the bench mob with awkward rotations
Bagley for sure should continue being our bruiser/center though not a PF. He may have found his calling to operate with all that spacing without a center getting in the way

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
Play defense, move the ball around. Casey talks about .5 seconds (being decisive) but ... teams stray away from what made them successful.
Enough "jump-passes" - they all become turnovers. Every opponent knows all our guys do it. But this team is more watchable and most of our starting line-up is out. I hope every guy is watching and seeing how the bench has played better as a unit (in the last week) than our regular starting line-up. Talent alone doesn't win jack **** unless there's cohesion. Too many guys who like the ball in their hand -- Cade, Ivey, Killian, COJO - who will play with us until he's 50. And then coach us like Michael Curry (without the sneakly left-handed dunk)

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
I am super happy, this was Hayes first good game of the season.
He had a 7.4 BPM which was team high, and a 118 ORtg 2nd highest, behind Burks. He was efficient with a .615 TS% highest on the team. Let's hope he can continue to improve, and some day he become an adequate backup NBA level player.

Re: Pistons-Cavs (6pm)
The way Hayes responded to missing that gimme was a real indicator of a new attitude. He was angry with himself, put it behind him and put it right.
