Swiss were playing for the draw; how can you not start Shaqiri after his performance in 1st game?

Tame performance by Brazil’s standards, but I always appreciate the mentality. Pretty much every other team would have turtled after scoring so late but they were still aggressively pushing for more goals.

Rooting for Uruguay here. Nothing against Portugal at all, I just can't go against my boy Bentancur who's having a blinder of a season.

Portugal's coach is a joke.

Vitinha is their best midfielder. Doesn't play.

Leão is their best attacker. Doesn't play.

The guy a dinosaur unable to use the talent he has available to him. So instead he just always plays it conservative.

Got to say, that all sounds very familiar.

Felix drills it into the side netting on a counter attack, maybe one of Portugal's best chances so far.

There's Ronaldo. Damn, that Uruguayan right back played him a mile onside.

Ironically, supposedly Henderson is starting tomorrow for the Dortmund guy.

I have to admire Luis Enquire. He picks his players and has the team always trying to dominate the ball and play uptempo.

I don't think Ronaldo even touched the ball. He would have distracted the keeper from grabbing it, which is just as well. But the ball's trajectory didn't look like it changed at all.

Southgate's conservatism generally hasn't served England too badly in major tournaments, so I can't grumble too much. But you can't help but feel like it's a waste given the wealth of attacking talent currently in the squad, I'm sure that's a common complaint for supporters of other major footballing nations too. It would be nice to have a more cohesive style of play like Spain do, and I do admire their absolute dedication to the country's footballing ideology.

I would have to see it again, I wasn't looking when they showed the other angles.

I am pretty sure he did not touch it but he will get away with his lie
