Does anyone else notice that Bol is sulking a tiny bit because he isn't getting his touches now that Banchero is back?

I didn’t see it, but wasn’t paying too much attention, especially after we started playing like crap.
With Bol I’ve read that he was a selfish player who often became a malcontent at his stops at Oregon and Denver. I remember him being almost too passive in the preseason and early season looking to find teammates and was hopeful that he learned that he needs to be a team player. Lately though he has definitely had some chucker moments mixed in with selfish plays on fast breaks. I’ve also wondered how we would feel going back to the bench when people returned from injury.
Still holding out hope that he is just going through the growing process of learning how to utilize his gifts to impact winning.

Re: Bol Bol Discussion Thread: Long-Term Starter or Reserve?
It only took two plays tonight to confirm that Bol should play with the reserves. In the first half, the Magic went back to the Franz + scrubs bench lineup for some stupid reason, and they had nothing going. Absolutely NOTHING.
In the second half he goes to the bench with 5 fouls and Mosley can't pull the same nonsense. Instead Bol makes a driving dunk and then on the next play finds Schofield in the corner for 3. Complete trash lineup out here and he makes something out of nothing, because he has the size and skills to do it.
That's exactly what we need from our reserves. We've been desperate for it. You just have to think beyond starter/bench and think big picture for how the team can win.

Lol you’re such a hater, the most efficient player we have should be a reserve. Lol nice one

I’ve seen that attitude change on Bol. A bit disappointing that is how he was but I get it. He was supposed to be a top 5 pick. Has had a chip on his shoulder ever since. I say let him have a chip just don’t ruin team chemistry.

I don't think a "demotion" to the bench is indicative of his skill. I think Bol is a matchup and usage dependent player and there will be games where he is probably better there. He's been a wildcard in the good way more than a bad way this season, which is actually what we need.

Doesn't matter. He'll get paid to stay if he wants to be here.

Exactly it doesn’t matter. Fact is we caught lightning in a bottle. To be fair Bol off the bench is prob the best long term, he’s gonna get better ( which is scary) and he will absolutely dominate second units

If you're talking about when the games count... like a championship run.. he's reserve.

Our intensity looked much better with him out there instead of Bamba. Guy is a literal unicorn, the tallest guy on the court breaking out these advanced moves is so fun to watch.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I truly cannot comprehend what you guys are watching if you are even considering Bol a bench option. The guy looks like a perennial allstar with legit unicorn-type traits. Id go as far as saying hes a more valued asset than Franz right now, given the uniqueness of his skillset.

I'm watching our bench try to play basketball.

You have to remember you're playing in games that mean absolutely nothing. He didn't get burn in Denver because they were always in the midst of playoff runs. Their games mattered more and he couldn't be trusted in those games. He's always had the talent. Trust me I've been a fan since he came in the league.

I think Bol's current game lends itself unbelievably well to the complete and utter lack of structure the Magic have on both ends of the floor this season.
It is for all intents and purposes a total free for all at all times with almost no accountability for anything and I think that's conducive to what he can do right now.

Do you remember the the play in the first half where he had Paolo cutting to the basket on the break? He almost didn't pass it to him when the read there is to pass it clear as day. He passed it last second. I was about to cuss at my TV. He just looks like he's playing by himself on offense.
