Too many missed free throws, Nets got their super star calls and converted, below average from 3. Despite a good defensive effort the Wizards lose.

He does it because he knows it works.
He’s *going* to get a big contract because of his raw numbers this year. It doesn’t matter to the masses that he’s inefficient as ever or that his defense has been pretty bad. PPG gets $$.
What do we hear from the public and from our marketing department? That we have a “Big 3” of Beal, Porzingis and….Kuzma.

I cannot understand why this isn’t obvious to coaches.
Gaf doesnt have a shot, other than dunk. Hard to play him lots of mins without that.
This game was lost on the FT line.
I abhor Silver

Man, I wish you weren't so spot on.
Also why you've seen all the theatrics from him this season, with the shimmy thing he does, and the hand gestures, etc. He's purely marketing himself right now, no matter what impact has it on the team. Can't blame him, this franchise let's players use it for their vehicle to a big pay day.
If this team gives this dude a pay day, that might be the straw that breaks the camels back. At least Beal you could make some sick argument that it was loyalty to a guy we drafted high, who had some okay playoff runs, had some good seasons, All-Star selections, etc. But if they give it to a preening mercenary like Kuzma, I think Ted is just knowingly torturing us like some sociopathic kid who kills his pets.

He’s dapping up Markieff. Too cool for school. Doesn’t give a crap that HE IS THE MAIN CULPRIT tonight. Smiling after losing. Prince of entitlement.
Damn!
Porzingis is balling.
Beal could care less about winning, that will never change, and just another reason why that contract is the joke of the league. He's been Mr. Smiles, way too friendly, funny guy on the court for a long time now, nothing new there. He can tell the soft ball, sports media that all he does is want to win all he wants, but he will never convince me with his lack of leadership and discipline.

Porzingis and Kuzma both can pass. Lob city all day long. Gafford could rim run all day.
Why would Gafford need a shot? Kuzma driving to the hoop with Porzingis at the top of the key and all Gafford does is sky and dunk.
This coach is totally blowing it.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Re: GT #22: Bullets @ Nets 7 PM (NBCSW/980 AM)
5 turnover breakdown for Beal
Turnover 1- Kuzma threw him a pass in the backcourt (should be given to Kuzma)
Turnover 2 - Ball stolen from Beal while he was dribbling against Harris
Turnover 3- With Seth Curry handchecking him in the back Beal tried to draw a foul- may have been unwise for Beal to pound the ball so much
Turnover 4- Behind the back move loss handle- turned it over although the Nets didn't convert.
Turnover 5- Looks like a missed shot or foul on Claxton

Loss is not solely on Beal
Collectively this team can’t hit FTs or 3-pointers on the road.

As much as I hate watching Beal's ole faithful of a shaky handle or his appreciation for pounding the rock, pick your flavor, for this given game I can't really say Beal was the major deciding factor. Had we made half of those missed free throws, and a three or two more, it could have been a different game.
We weathered the Durant and Kyrie show, you know that that's what they are going to do on most nights, the issue is once again at the offense's feet. Aside from the free throws, we again shoot terribly from three. A major influencing factors to this, which has been a pattern throughout the season, is that WUJ has given the green light for us to take a lot of early, contested shot clock threes. This is a double edged sword in that it usually results in a poor shot and it also discourages good ball movement. It also makes the opposing team have to exert little energy on defense.
I don't mean to harp on my complaints from the Minny game, but this is why I was putting up a stink about trading baskets with Minny and not being impressed with an undisciplined shootout against a bad team. This team has shown that it can play defense, but it feels like some of these players just want to put up pretty counting offensive stats without having to exert much effort on defense. Instead of committing to being a defense first team, we want to market our Big Three. And I'm cool with the marketing aspect of it if you get results, but this brand of offense where Beal, Zinger, and Kuzma chuck up a ton of shots out of the flow of anything looking like semblance of an offense it just not sustainable.
I've really enjoyed some of the games where they played team ball, with hard-nosed defense. It just seems like WUJ can't get them to buy into that every night.

Agreed. This is very clear and the Wizards will remain in purgatory (8-11th place in the East) as long as these inconsistencies persist.
