Yup.

Step up from sucking, but barely

Knicks are only interesting in 2 year runs, before hope gives way to reality and acceptance. Then they just become boring.

Then the firings happen and the process repeats.

Yes we have tons of picks and assets (actually do we?) now but where is that getting us?

I disagree with you there. Few eras in Knicks history were more frustrating than the Isiah era.

Yah but he sold the hope pretty damn well. We had the Francis and Marbury support threads, the Formidable Eddy and Zach era, Eddy Curry > Dwight Howard threads, etc. Hell, I think I supported Balkman really hard.

If we want to tank, all we have to do is shut JB down. He needs to be saved from himself anyhow. He throws his body around too much. Right now he has a deep thigh bruise and swollen ankle. What's the point? Start giving more minutes to Deuce.

Y'all are terrible fans and strategists. Blow up one of the youngest teams in the league to tank? For what reason? To get young players and blow it up again?

We tanked at least two times. We got KP and RJ. It did not change anything.

To properly build a team by tanking we have to:
1) build a really bad team to torture the fans;
2) get lucky with Ping Pong balls;
3) do it the right draft when franchise players are available;
4) get the right prospect;
5) develop him into a winning player
6) make the right moves to get him proper help.

Its not so simple.

tanking is just one part of the entire process - high picks are no guarantee; still need pinpoint evaluation to make the most out of it

they pick junk they get junk

We will not tank because the Front Office will not be given enough time to start over. They will not have another 3 or 4 years of failure before getting axed.

Besides:
1) The roster is competitive. You can say they are mid. But they are young and will get better and we have assets to get a lot of help.
2) We have time. The core is young and locked for a long time.
3) At last we have an excellent PG after decades and it would be very sad trading him.
4) It will be tough trading our players. Evan (negative value) and Randle (bad ft and expensive to contenders and not useful to pretenders). RJ is a low-valuable asset right now (Too expensive to rebuild teams and too inconsistent for contenders).
5) Trading players like RJ, Randle, and Evan should not worse the team very much to get a better pick.

We about 3 games out of the 4th seed. What's easier for the FO, trying to get from here to there or landing about 2 or 3 all stars and a generational talent in the draft? lol

Is it time to start collecting bing bong shirts? Look at this sht. Someone turned RJ and Randle into Fat Albert characters. Fu Manchu Randle and stoned bucktooth RJ ftw

Knicks have had a lot of lottery picks - especially other team's lottery picks, players like Michael Beasley, Derrick Williams, Emmanuel Mudiay, Mario Hezonja, etc.

Finding elite talents in the lottery is an inexact science...

We tanked. We did exactly what the OP is suggesting. After Melo got hurt, we got rid of JR Smith, Shumpert, Prigioni, and Stat.

It is like losing Brunson for the season and then we get rid of, Randle, Evan, IQ, and Rose to enhance our tanking. The difference is that I think our roster is deeper right now with better young players that would give a lot of unwanted wins.

Exactly. The Knicks have NEVER ONCE went into the off season w the plan to play young guys and live w the results. Even the 18'-19' season there was talk about the playoffs.

Lmao

We had mudiay who was the classic Knicks signing to strike lightening, kanter n THjr

Even still if u say we "tanked" it got us the best young talent we've had on this team in 20 years. So yes it works.
