They listed Australia as one of the Asian nations to make the knockout stage.

if only he had shown remorse to that blatant cheating but he double down on it.

Possibly the greatest meme in the history of the interweb.

Yeah I wanted Portugal to stick out as the only 3 win team of the group stage. Now Brazil is the only candidate.
Why was the coach so pissed about conceding in stoppage time?
That was a great goal too.
Probably because a loss is a loss.
They also didn't show didn't show any real sense of urgency on the 2nd Korean goal. A counter attack on wide open field after you just had a corner? Unacceptable.

Australia is not in Asia. In fact is this first time that teams from all 6 living continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America) have at least 1 team in knock-out stage?

Suarez as good as he is, was always a great player and elevated his tiny nation.
They always played above their weight class and is a respective powerhouse given how small their nation is.
Yet I have to laugh at the pic above, because Suarez always brings the lol and wtfs whenever he is on the biggest stage.

Disgraceful scenes at the end of the Ghana vs Uruguay game though, understandably pissed at some decisions but no need to mob the ref after the game

nah, wait for the knockout rounds. 1998 takes the cake for me.
I mean everyone got their own opinions, I respect that but honestly I never imagined this WC would be so good for few reasons
1 different time of the year than all previous World Cups
2 one of the major contenders Italy didn’t qualify
3 is in Qatar , so one would’ve thought they got zero experience hosting tournament of this magnitude ( so far they doing amazing job )

Yeah, no doubt he's a magnificent player and one of the finest strikers of his generation. An incredible player to watch, especially at Liverpool and his early years at Barcelona. Had that "best player not named Ronaldo or Messi" position locked down for years.

What does the host nation have to do with the actual quality of the games? I get all the logistical details and whatnot. But what happens on the field is down to the players and totally independent from where those patches of grass happen to be located.

Going to make it after the final group stage games are played tonight.
Don't want to split activity into two threads just yet.

1 all training facilities is within 10 miles radius from main stadiums
2 all lodging is within 10 miles from main arenas
3 if some people can cut out political agendas from the Soccer tournament would’ve be even better , look ahead what’s coming , I’ll tell you what’s coming next , probably worst possible World Cup ever
2026 WC
1 hosted by USA/Mexico/Canada , thousands of miles distances , different time zones , climate , travel time
2 16 groups 3 teams each , means there will be fixing games at the highest rate with two teams playing last game and third team sitting in a hotel and watching them being screwed up
3 movements of fans after group stages , crossing borders, visas problems (all 3 countries have totally different visas polices)
So enjoy this one while it lasts, next one won’t be so fun

This is probably Suarez and Cavani's last World Cup. It was interesting listening to Forlan giving the commentary on telemnundo while his team was losing.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

Is this real? I didn't watch the game.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.
