Just swung through Koreatown and it's a ghost-town.

Gotta love these cold, damp and grey December days in Toronto...

I mean everyone got their own opinions, I respect that but honestly I never imagined this WC would be so good for few reasons

1 different time of the year than all previous World Cups

2 one of the major contenders Italy didn’t qualify

3 is in Qatar , so one would’ve thought they got zero experience hosting tournament of this magnitude ( so far they doing amazing job )

What does the host nation have to do with the actual quality of the games? I get all the logistical details and whatnot. But what happens on the field is down to the players and totally independent from where those patches of grass happen to be located.

1 all training facilities is within 10 miles radius from main stadiums

2 all lodging is within 10 miles from main arenas

3 if some people can cut out political agendas from the Soccer tournament would’ve be even better , look ahead what’s coming , I’ll tell you what’s coming next , probably worst possible World Cup ever

2026 WC

1 hosted by USA/Mexico/Canada , thousands of miles distances , different time zones , climate , travel time

2 16 groups 3 teams each , means there will be fixing games at the highest rate with two teams playing last game and third team sitting in a hotel and watching them being screwed up

3 movements of fans after group stages , crossing borders, visas problems (all 3 countries have totally different visas polices)

So enjoy this one while it lasts, next one won’t be so fun

lol, why? Outside of the field expansion, which will definitely suck -- I am shocked it hasn't happened sooner, frankly, given FIFA's naked rapacity -- that's all logistical stuff. It has nothing to do with what might or might not happen on the field.

Is this real? I didn't watch the game.

To be fair I didn’t even see their reactions to the penalty miss, I was just stunned at how **** of a penalty Ayew took lol.

On top of logistics

3 team groups will be a nightmare, it will suck out all fun from tournament for many fans and yes it will have huge influence on what’s happen on the field ( staged games #2) you know some teams will fix even games #1 as 2 of 3 will qualify

It’s nothing more than a huge money grab by FIFA and hosting nations

You’ll find out , you have to wait 4 years though for something that many knows already

They listed Australia as one of the Asian nations to make the knockout stage.

Australia is not in Asia. In fact is this first time that teams from all 6 living continents (Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America) have at least 1 team in knock-out stage?

Asia-adjacent?

They play in the Asian federation, which is why they called Australia as one of the Asian sides through to KO, would've done the same with Iran and the Saudis

3 team groups are absolutely idiotic. No more of this final match day magic, intensity, heart break.

Yeah, we all agree that 3 team groups will suck.

But that would suck regardless of where the World Cup is held.

we needed his set pieces kicking skills. lol

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Yea i think they're overestimating themselves by bringing down the group stage significance...

had we be in 3 team groups this run, the likes of Japan, Korea would've never qualify.....

It **** stupid objectively speaking, 4 years of qualifying for two games? essentially lose one and you're pretty much done.

I still remember the 2010 WC. The man was an Uruguayan legend.

Are they testing for covid?

If they can run, they will probably play but could be coughing a lot.

no, i've watched bits and pieces of the last couple. i'm a typical dumb american when it comes to soccer but i'm learning more and liking the game the more i watch. and i watch more with every major tournament. used to be just a world cup person but i tuned in to the latest round of the euros and whatever alphabet soup the north american one is called
