Great win tonight at the garden. I hope the team gets a chance to enjoy downtown Boston.
At this point I would say Herro has a case vs Trae Young but Doncic's post game is now elite legit. This dudes approaching Bird levels of skill. Herro, that's no pride lost there.
Bam looks epic. Peak condition and now has a feathery touch. He found it. With every attempt he seems to improve. Keep mastering that 3 ball and he can stay elite till his late 30s.

Bam's first 5 games
14.6ppg
8.4rpg
11.5fga
2-3 record
Bam's last 16 games
23ppg
9.3rpg
16.8fga
9-7 record
He’s the key to this team. 9-7 is great considering the injuries we’ve battled during that stretch as well. Plus just a tough schedule. Never bring DHO Bam back again

Want a minimum of 22-10 the rest of the way. That middy is becoming a serious weapon.

We still had stretches in the 4th where we went away from him too long but we’re getting there

I just don't like the fit.
DeRozen is a very good player, but his lack of a 3 point shot AND below average defense is just not what we need at PF.
I'd still try to get Jeremy Grant if Portland implodes, He's younger, bigger, better defender, better 3 point shooter.

Big no to DeRozan the way our team is constructed. We need size.

Love how the Celtics of all teams are the ones crying about travels. Brown literally travels every other possession lmao.

We now need to buckle down and go on a couple of semi-runs and win 4 out of our next 5 games, 8 out of our next 10, and 12 out of our next 16.
That would put us at 23-16 - likely good enough for 4th in the eastern conference.

Re: NBA 2022-23 Regular Season Thread Volume 1
So Bam is averaging 21ppg for the season overall.
That's ranked 29th in the NBA currently.
Out of the 28 players ahead of Bam in scoring, Adebayo has a higher fg% than 23 of them.
Out of the 28 players ahead of Bam in scoring, Adebayo is amongst the bottom three (3) for least fga attempts/game.
Out all of the players currently averaging less than 16fga/game, Bam is tied for 5th in scoring.
** For players that attempt less than 0.5 threes/game - Bam leads ALL scorers in ppg.

There is something to be said for raw talent.
There is also something to be said for redundancy. Guys could come in and out of that line up due to injury and you might not loose a skill set.
What would it cost? Unless it is cheap on trade capital, it seems like a terrible way to prove spacing and size matters.

All while being arguably the best defender in the world and one of the best playmaking bigs in the league. I’d have to sit down and look but this version we’ve seen from bam after a shaky first 4 games is probably a top 15 player in the world

Here is an example that you can get a player to play in the birdbox next to Bam now that he is using his midrange jumper.

Now if he can pass Jimmy or just get in that tier in the top 10 with him that would be a massive development lol

This Celtics game like the Suns game feels like this may be the point for this team to break through and start going on a run. Unfortunately Jimmy went out due to injury after the Suns win and it killed all momentum we had built up.

At this point I can’t even be mad that Highsmith is getting playing time. Just have to hope the offense comes together at some point. He’s proven himself to be an elite perimeter defender

Over the last couple years, I’ve realized him and his counterparts don’t know a thing.
