Why, who do they have in the pipeline?

Unless there are some 16-22 year olds who weren't ready for this WC but should be big time in 4 years, just don't see it.

wasn't there some kid named pepi, who i thought did fairly well in qualifying, but he didn't even make the roster

I'm going to take some personal time and figure out who I'm rooting for now

Time of possession is not a huge indicator. It’s what you do with the ball when you have it. A lot of times teams just pointlessly pass the back in the backfield without threatening

Same as the rest of the strikers. Had a few great moments but largely disappeared.

I can see NFL skills players having the speed and explosiveness to run by defenders, like you see Mbappe doing.

Of course they don't have the skills to dribble the ball or strike it.

And those guys would be subject to defenders tackling them with spikes into their ankles and feet.

So the best of them are going to target the NFL.

Same thing with save a 6-4 or 6-5 NBA wing with elite athleticism who can win a lot of headers in the box. Again injury risk and they can make a lot of money in the NBA.

So the athletes who don't have the size, skill or elite attributes are going to target other US sports.

Really the only chance US has of making jumps into higher tiers is to have some sons of immigrants who come from countries with huge futbol culture prioritizing the sport, so probably African or some Hispanic immigrants.

But you see a lot of prospects of African and Hispanic descent for the NFL and NBA instead.

Netherlands not better than England, this is actually one of the worst Dutch teams in a while too

We thought the same in 2010 and 2014, but we did quite well then.

there are no RVPs, or Sneijders or Robbens on this Dutch team.

i hope there are some upsets in this round, would be a bummer if all the favorites went through (as a pro-underdog guy)

If this was opposite Argentinian would’ve flopped and Messi would’ve kick penalty now , clear foul

As expected Argentina cant handle teams who put pressure.

Dreadful play from Argentina. Massively dissapointed.
