part it is also the only guy who does cut is PJ who I doubt could make a wide open lay up in a gym by himself at this point. Found him on cuts twice last game IIRC...nothing but sadness came from it.
this is where the lack of athleticism (vertically and horizontally) also hurts

They bet on RJ continuing to improve and so far it has not paid off. RJ seems like a hard worker who actually likes basketball too so while I personally never thought he was that guy....i could see how you could bet on the kid over logic IMO.
Honestly that's been the case ever since the draft with him. Garland was too much of a question mark after his injury at Vandy to be considered, imo. Everyone else has been a role player or bust. Herro was obviously too hard to project. I was such an NAW stan that I would have drafted him over Barrett (and promptly watched that blow up in my face).

The Knicks should write an essay on their regrets with drafting and extending R.J. Barrett and send it to the Magic. Maybe the Magic will sell high on Banchero and save themselves the headache of similarily locking into a big athletic guy who is a good playmaker but can't shoot or defend.

Mathurin’s not giving that spot back either. I think he’s going to take over the ROY race.
Banchero’s been playing well, its gonna be hard for Mathurin to take that spot from Banchero
He stealing it bro...

Somewhat unprecedented in his mediocre advanced stats, but Jalen Williams is proof that size/length mixed with high BBIQ leads to a high performing role in the NBA. He looks a little goofy out there, but I'm very surprised by his athleticism so far. Looks like he and SGA are going to be a force moving forward.

The problem with the young Thunder pieces is that none of them can shoot, outside of Robinson-Earl.
Even the dudes shooting well this year (Poku, Wiggins, and Bazely), I'm a little hesitant to trust it based on what they've shown in the totality of their young careers soo far.
I'm starting to really like Jeremiah Robinson-Earl, though. He's like a poor man's P.J. Washington.

I like him. He looks so nice when he plays without deferring to SGA. Much better than Giddey.

I’m just bummed Chet isn’t playing. Theoretically, I think they have the right core ingredients to be great in the future. An All-NBA playmaker with SGA, a wing with future AS talent in Jalen Williams, and a defensive anchor in Chet.
The rest of their team is a dice roll but you’d hope 2 legit playoff level starters will develop.

I don't see them having a future. Already hearing rumblings that Shai's patience is wearing thin. Where there's smoke, there's almost always fire.
So he'll be gone and then it will just be Chet, a million picks that Presti will never cash in, and a bunch of okay prospects.

Walker Kessler should climb up the rookie ladder as we go to the end of the season. But ROY should go to the most ppg rookie.

Don't look now, but Jabari Smith has begun showing everyone why he was the best prospect in this class.
Also, Dyson Daniels has been VERY good on the low.

As far as I'm concerned with bigmen, rebounding and blocking shots are doing what they're in the sport for. But for a big to standout to me, they got to have an ancillary trait that shines. Right now, Kessler has no shooting or playmaking so he isn't offering anything else to get me excited.

And then fracture a bone in his foot and he out for a year or two.

More like Embiid with a eating disorder or a 7'2 KD
