Interesting tidbits from the podcast...
Miami interested in G.Williams may be available and Miami has interest. Probably reason is that Horford has been extended 2 more years and G.Williams wants a solid paycheck. Looking at the Celtics contract situation, they have the frontcourt signed (Tatum, R.Williams, Horford) for 2 more years, there's no room and they're in the tax. Also they still have Gallinari's contract next year. They might be looking to dump some salary for a pick. Also... Miami would probably extend him if they trade for him so that agreement and price may have to be in place for Miami to do the trade.

Oladipo's return is nearing, Ethan says the soft target for his return is Tuesday at home against the Pistons.

Give them a listen, it's not just a filler podcast today.

Smith taking and making shots it looks like he can't even get off when playing on the Heat

Grant Williams definitely fits the physical profile we look for in our big men.

Huge long shot, as I doubt Boston wants to give us exactly the type of player we look for at the 4.

But jeez he’d be perfect.

I mean, even in his diminished state he’s probably an upgrade on Gabe. Shoots a similar percentage from 3. Worse defender but better rebounder - and you know Spo would have him down low battling 5’s on the glass

Russ would beast as a sixth man if we can get him after a buyout.

Reminds me of Wall. We waited and obviously lost out.

Chicago Bulls Patrick Williams, what are your thoughts on him and his fit here as a possible trade target? I just listened to Windy talk about the disappointment in Williams.

Would love to see him develop here. He's the Spototype.

In fairness to Spo, when Jovic has been in the lineup, he has been absolutely lost defensively...not just getting beat, he has been lost. He's a rookie who isn't a good defender, so I don't blame him. However, I would guess that Spo's thinking is that Udonis can provide some rebounding, set some screens, take a charge or 2, and at the very least body up to somebody on defense. It just shows the amount of trouble we are in at the 4 and 5 positions.

We would be stupid not to, if he is available and willing after a buyout. Russ hasn't been in a good position in a while. Put Russ on the right team, with the right coaching, and accountability, and he will be effective and probably an upgrade over Gabe. He's a pitbull in a team full of pitbulls. We are distinctly suited for a reclamation project like Westbrook who can still get a triple double on any given night.

Return to Miami Heat
