Yep.

And then replace the useless pieces - Fultz, Anthony, Ross, Hampton, Okeke, Isaac, Bamba - with veterans via free agency and trades who can play.

G: Henderson, Suggs, veteran
G: Veteran, George, veteran
F: F. Wagner, veteran, Houstan
F: Banchero, Bol, veteran
C: Carter, veteran, M. Wagner

It’s almost unanimous that Scoot, if eligible, would have been the #1 pick in 2022 ahead of Paolo, Chet and Smith.

I fully understand the Generational insanity of Wemby and I guess you completely ignore the depth chart and roster when such a talent is there and just make that pick.

However … Scott Henderson is pegged to be everything you want in a modern day franchise super star PG to lead you so championships. Those don’t come around often.

I’m not saying pick Scoot > Wemby. I’m also not saying pick Wemby > Scoot. I’m just saying … if you land a top 2 pick, either pick, just be damn happy.

I'd pick Wembanyama 1st and do my best to flip Carter (and other picks/players as necessary) for a starting guard.

I'd gladly pick Henderson 2nd overall.

If the Magic do not end up 1st or 2nd, I'm immediately looking into flipping their own pick (slotted 3rd-6th) and the Bulls pick (slotted 5th-8th) and other stuff for the 2nd pick to get Henderson.

Ideally a team who does not have an overwhelming need for a PG like Detroit or OKC ends up with 2nd pick (if it's not the Magic) and are willing to go back a couple of spots.

How do you guys like UCF's Taylor Hendricks? Dude has won AAC Freshman of the week three straight weeks and average more than 15.5 PPG as a freshman. Dude could be a excellent 3 and D SF/PF in the league with great defensive potential and he is a bucket getter. I know we are looking at Top 5 Draftees in 2023 NBA Draft. But if we somehow could draft in the teens, maybe we take a look. What do you think?

It would be funny if we took the Thompson twins with our pick and the Chicago picks.
Made them our Point Guard and Shooting Guard.
Then, we would elevate Moe to starting Center.
We'd have two pairs of brothers (and Banchero) as our starting five.
Keep your politics out of my sports

I know shooting is out biggest need, but if we're outside top 2 or if the Bulls pick conveys, I'm drafting at least one of the Thompson twins!

Also I know us drafting Michigan players have become a meme. But I really like Jett Howard.

What would you trade for Zach Lavine if the Bulls want to tank?

Trade them their pick back plus what players? Seems like we would be in the drivers seat because can you imagine a world where they tank and still don’t get a draft pick?

Heck no! He is exactly what we don’t need. Another injured player.

If we end up number 1 and get Wembyama so be it, but I’d love to see us get Scoot Henderson and one of the better 2 guards and start putting the finishing touches on a legit young core for the team. In the meantime I’d like to see Fultz and Suggs clear some career hurdles and become a valid 6th and 7th man backcourt that gives significant contributions from the bench.

They'll definitely overhaul the backcourt. I think Suggs and Fultz are likely to remain (Fultz would most likely be the backup 6th man PG, Suggs would be the starting PG as he's a fantastic defender and works well with Paolo/Franz/Wendell.)

If they don't get the first pick. They'll most likely try to trade the pick for a Lillard/LaVine/George/Leonard/Durant level type star. They've said man of times They'll most likely to make moves to push the team to winning next year.

I agree that it could trigger a star trade, but we’re too far from good to bring in a 30+ yr old centerpiece. The CLE move is a great model…and price is probably similar for a younger star, even if not yet HOFer like above

That's a very difficult mold to follow. Most Stars get traded in the middle-to-end of their primes. It's rare to see a young star get traded before the franchise tries to retool around them. Unless things get that bad you're rarely going to see it and it doesn't make much sense.

Man, great minds think alike. I literally was going to post how I would love Geroge and Henderson. George looked great against the bulldogs. Obviously Wemby is the first choice but I would not be upset with George and Henderson as a consolation prize.
