Do you have any expectations for Sims?
i think he can be a good backup center. nothing more. he's smaller than people realize. a couple of bigger centers this year really bullied him. i remember nurk kind of laughing at him when we played portland. but off the bench he's fine. he can rebound better than hart. he's quicker. i think he works better with what thibs wants.
I was surprised at his height. Wes Unseld was only 6'7" and Moses Malone was 6'9" and they somehow held their own against bigger guys, some of them legends. But Sims is more like a pogo stick than those guys who were cinder blocks so it is his mobility that will carry his game as long as he retains most of that athleticism.
He might be able to develop a mid-range shot. I've seen him attempt a few moves around the paint even a step back mid-range jumper.
I agree. He's probably a back-up, but perhaps a good one that could blend well with a faster second unit.
