Sean Marks has proven to be a horrible GM in season that never makes adjustments to address roster issues.
I'm so over him at this point.

If you listen to Marks presser at media day, you can tell he isn’t happy here anymore. His days are numbered

He looked even more miserable when he had to do the presser after Kyrie's video sharing incident.
Can't say I blame him.

That's understandable, but as far as the organization as a whole, I think he's really thru with KD/Kai. The new assistant that was hired, they all know he was hired to replace Marks eventually. Marks knows it, his body language says it all. My concern is that perhaps Marks is now trying to sabotage the team himself by not addressing the need for a big...... I hope that is not the case and I don't want to judge him but he doesn't seem himself anymore.

I won't go that far. If anything, i'll chalk it up to incompetence before I accuse him of being malicious.

I'd rather Cousins or Dwight if that's the case.

Re: Is there a reason we havent signed a big?
There were floating reports of us talking to Atlanta for a possible John Collins trade. Not sure if legit though and Collins doesn't really qualify as a Center at 6-9.

He wouldn't but Mills is useless at this point and small and Curry is really small. Curry looked awful against the Celtics, I wouldn't mind trading either one to get a bigger and younger Collins who can still improve his game in the right system and gives us more size. Let's say you get a stretch PF like Collins and sign Howard or Cousins, your problems with size are completely solved; question is will it be enough to defeat Boston? Boston has figured out Brooklyn and the Nets can't seem to counter. If Vucevic became available, that would be a no brainer for the Nets too.

I don't see what Day'Ron Sharpe isn't getting more playing time. He's no world beater but I would think that he should get at least a steady 10 to 12 minutes per game...especially against teams with big boys in the middle. He's not that bad imho. Definitely not deserving of a string of DNPs anyway. Still has time to improve also. Not saying he's the answer but then again "he doesn't suck" as the saying goes.

Its a glaring and documented hole. What are we waiting for?
Anyone have insight?
The only reason I can come up with is that maybe there is nobody out there worth cutting one of our guys for right now.
Here is our roster, who would we cut?
1) Royce
2) TJ
3) Sumner
4) Duke (Two Way contract)
5) KD
6) Patty
7) Ben
8) Kyrie
9) Joe
10) Markieff
11) Kessler
12) Yuta
13) DayRon
14) Cam
15) Seth
16) Alondes Williams (Two way contract)
17) Nic
#14 and 13 whole day long , waste of roster spots

Re: Is there a reason we havent signed a big?
We heard today that the Bucks and Serge Ibacka are parting ways. The deadline is less than three weeks away. We need to wait it out and IF there are any good players made available we have to take a shot. We don't know if Marks feels the same.
I still think our window will be open for next season also. KD is still a top player in this league.
Here is a look at our salary situation.

Re: Is there a reason we havent signed a big?
We need to use Joe Harris's contract for someone that can help us now and next year. Not sure who we can use him in a package for though. I don't see us getting Myles Turner, John Collins, or Kuzma tbh we just don't have the assets. I think we aim for lower level guys. Jason Richardson, Eric Gordon, PJ Washington, Jae Crowder, Alec Burks, Rozier, Oubre, Terrence Ross etc.. I mean any of these guys would help at this point. But we definitely can't afford to stand pat. We need all the ammo for when KD comes back. We have a small window and we need to swing for the fences for this season and next as well.

I suppose this thread is the best place to raise the question...
Why doesn't Claxton play more minutes? I was surprised at how low his mpg really is.
Less minutes because of his foul shooting at the end of games? Hmm.. I dunno.
Less minutes due to foul trouble? He's not that foul prone.
Can't play with Simmons too much?
He can't sustain the energy?
Something else?
I kind of am wondering if he shouldn't be getting Durant/ Irving / even O'Neale minutes for the duration. And, if he did, how much would that alleviate things?
I got questions more than answers. After all, my motto is "Hey, what do I know?!?!"

I think Ibaka is very realistic and good signing

We can't play drop coverage at all. Larry Nance Jr is available according to few beats from Twitter. They'd like to keep Hayes and upgrade him over Valanciunas next year.

Until this year Nic was injury prone player. FO well aware of it and he's the only big that is playable apparently.
Sharpe in his 2nd year still nowhere close to be legit reliable back up.
Morris, I'm not sure what's going on there. Coaches feel more confident giving those min to Yuta, who is SF/PF combo.

They say that Richaun Holmes could be bought out if they don't find a trade. He would be a great fit here.
