Hell no to Maxey for LaVine or Beal.

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards

After Durant we need Giannis.
Basketball is simple. If you play against the trend, you need more talent.

We’ve tried everything except that.
4 guard unit
3 guard unit
Double tweener
Our double big was with Al but its back when we had JRich and Ben, where I believe it would be better with Maxey and Harden
For instance..
Maxey
Harden
Tobias
Al Horford
Biid
Horford is the guy we want Tucker to be. if you play double big it allows you to..
- have a maxey and harden backcourt while being solid interior defense, rebounding and better length at closeouts
- have Tobias at 3
You need Maxey and Harden to make the offense run smoothly. But Maxey and Harden allows a high volume of penetration to the paint that Biid alone wont be able to protect (cat and mouse; challenge drive opponent OReb)
Man i can write an entire book about it

Yes, so that can be a window to trade him now depending on the return.

Re: Fantasy Trade Thread
we need a Ben Simmons who is willing to be a 4 and occasionally shoot
(should have stolen Vanderbilt when we had a chance IMO)

I agree that Al was not the problem that year, even though we all blamed him.
JRich wasn’t the problem either.
It was always Ben. Always. EDIT: Tobias didn’t help anything, either. Never has, never will.
Maxey
Harden
JRich
Horford
Embiid
That lineup would work IMO.
The Sixers keep finding themselves in situations that they have to let end badly before they can make changes. See: Rivers, Glenn as the latest example.

One of JRich’s finest games with us
Real problem with the 2019-2020 experiment was we catered the team to Ben and Ben failing to reciprocate by not showing any improvements, while Biid goes into drama because his guys are gone.
This team never lacked talent but you also have to play the right way.
If you dont play the right way, you will need more talent that teams usually needs to in order to achieve the same success.
This is what separates the Celtics from the Sixers.
Celtics was playing the right way as early as when Jared Sullinger was playing 5 for them.
While we’re building a team that can rack up win numbers, Celtics were building a team that is geared towards the playoffs. They went to the extreme that they didnt give a rat’s ass on IT because they knew you wont win a championship with a player of his liability.
And now we’re here. This looks like a team constructed by a guy who was a big basketball fan in the late 90s to early 2000. Defense funneled to the C with 4 spot up shooters. Dump the ball to the post and kick it out to shooters.
We’re always playing against or catch-up to the trend

Everyone were.
You can also say Brett and our FO.
Digging deeper.
The problem is we built around two faulty franchise players then we doubled down until we reach this big of a hole.
We also put our fandom on certain players or person over the team.
I recently read about this book about Annie Duke. She talked about how the biggest skill for decision making is quitting.
You can make the right decision at the point of decision. But when the landscape change, you also have to change.
The problem with our team is once we got some feedback that were going into the wrong direction, we doubled down and triple down.
There was no change of course.
We already knew Ben at PG was a fraud as early as 2018! we were getting feedback from the Celtics. When Fultz was running PG the offense was smoother, thats another feedback. We confirmed that when Jimmy run our offense and Jimmy told our coaching that we need to change our scheme. But we doubled down by choosing Ben over Jimmy.
Things dont stop after you added talent. You also need to know when to double down, hold or cut it. Because the game does not stop after one decision, it is fluid, the landscape keep changing and it’s infinite.
Teams are getting faster and are adding size.
We are getting smaller and getting slower.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
