Re: Miami Heat 22-23 Regular Season Thread 2.0
Alright boyz saucee nuggets time got some info this morning. Its not concrete but something is going to happen after the next 10 games.
Apparently some of the staff overhead the tail end and saw a conversation with the executives who all seemed to be crowed around Spo yesterday.
This is what they heard, Riley smiling and giving Spo a shoulder rub and pat in the back saying "10 more games just 10 more games" but Spo had a real serious face like the conversation was not to his liking.
I asked my boy if this meant he was on the hot seat, he said he doesnt believe that to be the case. Pat would never call put Spo infront of the other execs like that, it be done in private.
He said theres 2 things he believes are that could be happening.
A. Theres a trade in the works but cannot be made possible until after 10 games and wants Spo to hold the line or showcase a certain player during this time.
B. He has 10 games to see if the current team can show some improvements in a positive direction like a 60% winning percentage heading us above .500 ball or their calling the season and having the tough conversation of heading a different direction.
Whatever was said involved 3 of our top executives with Spo and they looked like they were trying to make him feel better but he wasnt in the same space as them.
Sounds to me like some hard decisions are being made in these next 10 games and Spo is not on board or atleast not feeling all too good about it.

10 more games puts us at Dec.28th. Nothing significant about that date so idk. Dedmon and Martin are trade eligible the 15th

Good lord lol. The team sucks but we have some elite lineups, it’s simply just the fact that we’re playing so many scrubs that we suck. When our actual nba players are off the court the other guys ruin it

Yeah, I saw the same thing about the timeline, I would pay attention to who gets more playing time starting now to then, could have a team who may want to see a player more before they becomes buyers and were gonna start showcasing them more in these next 10 games. But if I was betting man I think its option (B) Spo was given 10 games perhaps with an emphasis on a play style he doesn't like. If that doesn't fix it we could be looking at a bunch of DNP's for fake injuries and planned rest the rest of the way to go into stealth tank mode.

In other words, they are mediocre in the games they get playing time together, which means that no matter how well they play together the team as a whole will keep us in the bottom of the league in most measures.

10 more days makes a lot more sense then 10 more games with the December 15th trade moratorium for new signings coming up.

That puts Miami at the end of a 4 game home stand before they do a 5 game road trip which will be tough going against Denver, Utah, LAC, LAL and Phoenix. It feels like Spoelstra's under some type of directive from the FO with the rotation/players until that point.

yeah good catch AirP, that looks like it may be why they are going with 10 game metric, so its like a gage through an easy stretch and if they cannot succeed they cannot expect it to change one it gets harder. I will definitely see how we play these next 10 games it could be telling to what is really the end game here.

White Mashup Jersey Tracker:
We wear them tonight against the clippers and I felt like we had been dominant with them and we have.
Record: 6-1 only loss came in Toronto with no Bam and an injured Jimmy who sat for awhile after so I excluded his numbers below for being injured.
Bam: 6-0 record
Averages: 25.8-11.2-2.83 shooting 56% on 18 shots a game
Jimmy: 3-0 record
Averages: 26.7-10.7-6.3 shooting 54% on 16 shots a game.
Simply put these jerseys turn our best 2 players into all nba 1st team players and turn our team into the best team in the league.
Wear them every game!

There's more. There's been rumors that the Clippers have been interested in M.Turner which Zubac found out, took personally and then dropped 31 points and grabbed 29 rebounds against Turner on November 27th. The Clippers have also been linked to Capela and I believe Poeltl also so it looks like LA is looking to replace Zubac who recently signed an extension and guess when he becomes trade eligible? Would you believe December 28th?
It's a possibility at least, it would give Miami a big at a reasonable price (10-11 mil) next to Bam.

Hmmm,
I guess if Demar didn't turn into prime Jordan during the season opener, we didn't choke down the stretch against the Blazers at home, and if were able to execute in Indiana (2pt loss), we would be right where we were at this time last season.

Spo would rather eat roadkill than play with both Zubac and Bam on the court together.

Maybe he'd be the backup, basically taking Dedmon/Yurtseven's spot. Yurtseven is up for a new contract whereas Zubac is more proven and on a solid contract for 2 more years. With Bam showing signs of being more offensive, maybe it's time to ease the burdon on defense for him. Then again, maybe Miami ends up with someone like Covington to play PF in somewhat sizable trade with Zubac if Robinson is moved. It's just odd that Zubac seems to be the only guy who becomes available at that time.

Clippers have some solid pieces for us for sure but I doubt Zubac is one of them

Another center should be a priority for this team, this team takes a huge dip with Bam off the court. Even if Miami gets a PF they still need to address the minutes at center with Bam off the court.
