Another center should be a priority for this team, this team takes a huge dip with Bam off the court. Even if Miami gets a PF they still need to address the minutes at center with Bam off the court.

I agree, no more Dedmon

Bam, Herro, and Butler are 46th, 47th, and 63rd in usg%, respectively. That's just unacceptable.

This is literally the definition of an equal-opportunity offense.

Guys like Malik Monk, Christian Wood, Keldon Johnson, Kyle Kuzma, and Jordan Clarkson have higher usg rates.

I hate these type of analysis, because last season was last season. The metrics are different, team components, strength of schedule, Health of players, players playing above their station due to lack of scouting or having an outlier season, Other teams improving and yours staying in place, players regressing from our team, changes in schemes that do not work or are not polished, its so much involved season to season that you cannot be comparable from one year to the next.

Apparently some of the staff overhead the tail end and saw a conversation with the executives who all seemed to be crowed around Spo yesterday.

This is what they heard, Riley smiling and giving Spo a shoulder rub and pat in the back saying "10 more games just 10 more games" but Spo had a real serious face like the conversation was not to his liking.

I asked my boy if this meant he was on the hot seat, he said he doesnt believe that to be the case. Pat would never call put Spo infront of the other execs like that, it be done in private.

He said theres 2 things he believes are that could be happening.

A. Theres a trade in the works but cannot be made possible until after 10 games and wants Spo to hold the line or showcase a certain player during this time.

B. He has 10 games to see if the current team can show some improvements in a positive direction like a 60% winning percentage heading us above .500 ball or their calling the season and having the tough conversation of heading a different direction.

Whatever was said involved 3 of our top executives with Spo and they looked like they were trying to make him feel better but he wasnt in the same space as them.

Sounds to me like some hard decisions are being made in these next 10 games and Spo is not on board or atleast not feeling all too good about it.

Probably told him they will be trading for a big man with legit size. He wasn't a fan of that.

Dream scenerio, a big man with a comparable 3pt shot and legit size, move Bam to PF spot and Caleb back to the bench. Shoot even if its a backup Center who can hold the line and put up points and not move like his feet are in cement blocks would be nice.

The idea of pulling Bam to PF and playing with a real center could really be.

Yurt has been broadcasting on Twitch for a while. Recently he was asked why his team defense has been bad this year. He said that he and Bam played in the first 5 all summer and the team planned accordingly.

Maybe a backup 4? He's at least another wing defender.

He’s still an nba free agent tho, he can go anywhere

Stanley Johnson is a real sneaky pickup. He's only 26 and fits the mold we look for in a PF. He's 6'6 but a real beefy 242. Basically a poor man's version of Jae Crowder with the possibility of being developed into a Jaw Crowder/PJ Tucker type.

They probably assured him after 10 more games he's going to be on the roster. Maybe 10 more games till we are allowed to play with 10 day contracts? Would honestly release Haywood Highsmith today and give him his contract.

10 day contracts can happen starting January 5th.

Very surprised that Stanley Johnson was hanging around the free agency pool after he looked to be finding his way with the Lakers. He fits our system here perfectly and many wanted to draft him when he went two picks before Justise Winslow. This is a rock solid pickup here and I imagine he'll be getting a contract here soon. He was traded in the Pat Bev deal to the Jazz and was a roster cut casualty in October. Hope he can find a long career on the Heat.

Brings me back to the good old days when we would debate who would have a superior career, Stanley Johnson or Justise Winslow.

Ironically, Kelly Oubre (who was deemed as rawer but with more potential upside) has ended up being better than both of them combined. Oh and then of course there's Devin Booker.. don't even get me started :noway:

Nah since we're talking about it already, why not?

Imagine Devin Booker on the Heat. Spo would have him as a 3 and d pf. Lol

Yep I remember thinking he was going to be very good and I wanted him in that Winslow draft, although I didn't think Winslow was going to be there at the time so I was happy with how it worked out for a while at least lol.

Stanley Johnson is basically a Spo wet dream PF

Things have a way of coming full circle.

Picking up Stanley and trading for Cam would be a good step forward towards getting athletes that aren't as 1 dimensional. They both have the tools that are perfect for this developmental system.
