Unless it’s a blockbuster trade, Lakers are screwed if they trade away Beverly and keep Westbrick. I’m pretty sure most people here don’t even watch the whole game, but just look at the score and stats at the end. The way Beverly pushes other Lakers players to be better and play defense is worth way more than Westbrick’s empty stats and dumb decision making in late game.

if we can get a player in return that can somewhat do what AD DOES defensively like a Turner .. and another starter with a great bench player that elevates the pressure that we have on Anthony Davis. his health is already questionable. If Anthony Davis gets injured there's no way we do anything. but when we have multiple players that will be more serviceable that we can rely on to put up points by trading him, then makes a lot more sense first to build a stronger team in total than to put all our hopes and dreams on one player

I finally found someone who appreciates Pat Bev :

Most fans here would look at the box score, watch him miss 3-4 shots and declare that he’s trash and ignore the fact that he’s trying to cover the opposing teams best scorer. No he’s not locking anybody up but he’s been doing relatively ok esp vs guys 3-4 inches taller than him.
Westbrook would collect assists but he’s also turning the ball over. What other fans are also not noticing is his bad defense. Walker has been great on offense but he’s not playing great defense either.
As it is, Russ is a 47 million dollar bench player who will give you 12-15 pts on 13 shots, shoot 30% from 3, commit 5-7 turnovers with 8-10 assists. Now that is not bad compared to last season but it’s purely because the expectation is so low.

There's no players available on dec. 15th that are better than all the players that have been rumored to be available right now.

I mean, who are they waiting for?
Bagley-Knox?
Someone from Brooklyn in a Kyrie deal (Yuta?)
With Nunn, Bev and Westy they can just about match any deal, so it cant be some of the Lakers' guys. Or what the hell?
That's a good point plus I think Rob is hoping to convince other teams now that they are not as desperate to trade because they are winning. That maybe they will cave in and just ask for ONE first round pick instead of 2. Maybe there are other teams that could tank more like OKC would be crazy to trade SGA or Orlando with some of their pieces.
It just doesn't add up unless they're looking to move Walker or if they have something semi-complicated in place that require a specific salary going out.
E.g. They have a deal in place for Jacob Poeltl based on Nunn+Damian Jones+1 FRP. That would have to wait until dec. 15th.

I dont really mind Pat Bev tbh and i'd prefer to keep him around if possible.
Against Lillard, CP3, Curry etc. i think he's a solid option defensively. He's shooting 22% from 3, which should regress back to his career numbers at some point, which is above league average.
It seems to me that among the guards they have to move Nunn and they have to move one or both of Beverley and Westbrook.

Re: Lakers Trade IDEAS
I’ve been on board with trading both picks for the Pacers package because I really thought Turner would unleash AD. I’m re thinking my strategy and now looking at the Jazz.
Lakers Trade:
Russ Westbrook
Kendrick Nunn
Damian Jones
27 and 29 unprotected
Jazz Trade:
Lauri Markenen
Kelly Olynk
Mike Conley
23 pick from Hou, BKN or PHI
Future 2nd Rounder
Lakers go all out. Allows them to play Lauri at the 3 with Bron and AD. Olynk shooting works well with AD as well. Can play with 2nd unit or with starters if someone is out. Conley has been pretty good this year controlling Jazz offense. By making both picks unprotected lakers get some added draft capital with protected pick. Also all 3 help with Lakers shooting woes.
Jazz get two more draft picks. Clear books by moving Conley for next year. Helps the tank.
I really like this from Lakers POV. Don’t know if Jazz would do it but feel like most Laker fans will say it’s too much. What’s everyone thoughts.

Re: Lakers Trade IDEAS
if we trade LeBron...
what's realistic?... and He would have to agree, where he would still have a chance to win.
I think he would like to play with Chris Paul, I think Miami, Cleveland, or Boston would be the other choices.
Miami: butler and Duncan ... he gets to play with Lowry, bam, herro
phx: I would demand Booker and any fillers... phx might for ticket sales, only chance but unrealistic
Cleveland: I'd ask for Garland or Mitchell with Allen. ... he will will play with one of those amazing gaurds, mobley, love, and lavert... that's legit
Boston: I'd ask for brogdon, Robert, and brown... legit for both teams

Essentially we'd be paying two first rounders to aquire Lauri Markannen. Not necessarily against that because he's been fantastic. But the Jazz are most likely going to keep him.
You could make it far more simple and just do a simple Westbrook for Conley+Olynyk+filler trade. That would clear the books for the Jazz for next season and the Lakers would get a solid point guard that can shoot and defend in Conley and a solid stretch-5 in Olynyk.
They'd still have Nunn, Bev, JTA, Jones etc. to find depth at the wing.

SF: LBJ (6'8") & Brown
PF: Reddish (6'8") & Gabriel

Re: Lakers Trade IDEAS
Indiana makes the most sense to trade AD to....
AD, Juan, Nunn and jones...for Turner, hield, andrew nembhard, and TJ.....
Indiana gets to pair haliburton with a superstar... still have Jalen, isiah, duarte, and Benedict
the second best trade would be to Boston, if they feel like need one more piece.... AD,nunn, jones and Juan... for brogdon and jaylen
than trade Beverly and brown for reddish and big H

There is nothing realistic about any Lebron trade scenarios, because the Lakers will not trade Lebron. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, but it's reality.

They cannot trade Lebron because he just signed an extension.
They will not trade Lebron because he sells tickets.
And if they piss off Lebron and he demands a trade next season, no future superstar will come here because of how they treated him esp after recruiting AD AND winning them a championship.

Listened to the Dunc'd on podcast who discussed the worst contracts in the league.
Beal, Lavine, Gobert, Cj McCollum and Ben Simmons were among the worst.
Beal i think could be interesting to look at. Beal and Kuz would work straight up, actually.
Beverly - Beal - Kuzma - Lebron - Davis
Wont happen though. Too expensive.

Re: Lakers Trade IDEAS
I think the Lakers right now just need to make small minor moves to add some size at SF and/or PF. I think Justin Holiday from the Hawks would be a great fit for this team. Great defender that can guard 1-3 and can shoot 3's. I would trade Nunn straight up for him.

I agree, if reddish falls off
I am so upset we didn't make a play for brogdon. Literally the perfect fit for us. Can you imagine if we traded our 2 picks, westbrook, nunn, THT .... for brogdon, hield, and turner?????? We would be championship caliber team!

That would've been a great return to get and definitely would've been in the championship mix.
