Wembegyana.
We’re in the mix. This team sucks.

Jordan Goodwin was special in the third and great tonight. By far he’s the easiest player to root for on this team.

He played well offensively. Not sure about shot selection sometimes and defense, but loves when Beal is out. But so much for Wiz winning w/o Beal. Can't win with him or without him when the schedule gets tougher and they are not always playing at home. Oh, and teams aren't missing key players every time we play them. We really should be about 10 games below .500 if not for the early injury luck.
Kuzma’s not the reason they lost. We’re too slow on the perimeter.
They went 18/40 from three to our 8/29
Halliburton and Hield owned today. Ned moth and Brissett made open and contested threes. We just don’t have athletic players.
Ugh, did I say he was the reason we lost? But to say he's not part of the problem defensively because he also defends perimeter guys, is a bit naive and then ignoring that we only have two pretty good defenders: Goodwin and Deni. Agree that we don't have athletic players. Kuzma isn't that athletic, neither is Deni, Morris, Kispert, etc. Deni is pretty fundamentally sound defensively. Look, I hope we lost every freakin' game so I would rather Delon Wright sit another 2-3 weeks. I loved the Wright signing and think that he's one of those few who can defend the perimeter and is long and athletic.

I hope so. Let Beal sit another month or so, not that it matters because he also helps the tank with his late game heroics.

These last two games have been the easier part of the stretch too.
Perfect tank loss. Deni, Goodwin, and Kispert all play 30+, Gafford almost 20, we played decently in stretches, they just got hot from three. Win win win in my book.
The other nice thing is that Indy figures to be in the tank picture too. It's better to get some distance in the loss column while they're still trying.
A mediocre stretch by both Chicago and LA puts us firmly into the sixth position in the draft. It's going to be hard to outfight HOU, SA, ORL, and DET, they are going to be near impossible to out tank albeit all only 4 wins behind us. CHA if Lamelo comes back soon, is the only other team we can hope to jump.
I'll take take a 38% chance at top 4. The fifth spot is real intriguing with a 45% at top 4.

Last year, we tanked late in the season just so we can draft 10 (great). We're not really trying now and we'll be near the bottom of the East at the end of January. Then you have really tank and that's by trading Kuz and anybody else that you can get something for. We don't normally get nice things so I don't see us getting the top 2 players, but there are some very good players in college that will be in the top 5-6. To the point where even Tommy can't f-ck that pick up.

So, Ken you agree with me? I'm not the reason we lost but I'm as frustrated as anybody including you who have been following the team for 45+ years. Kind of at my wit's end but with a tiny sliver of hope that maybe one day they'll figure it out before I pass away.

No, I just didn’t read your post well.
This wasn’t personal or anything like last time.
I think it’s the f’n Wizards. I really think I might not need to watch the next few games because they’re starting to really piss me off.
What’s fun about this team?

I probably would’ve watched the game tonight if I hadn’t had something else to do. Reading this thread, I’m glad I didn’t watch.
But freed from having to watch the game, I saw the Jordan Goodwin line and it prompted the next Washington Wizards nightmare scenario: making multiple trade deadline moves, not to acquire future assets, but to make the playoffs.
In order to appear to have won the Porziņģis and Kuzma trades, they throw in young players and future assets to get slightly “better” returns. These moves will, of course, be doomed to fail from the moment they are made. The Wizards will not make the playoffs, but “1 team, 1 goal, 11th seed” will pay off big with the 10th pick, who will join to watch the new big three get smaller and smaller with each passing year.
Wizards PTSD follows you wherever you go even when you skip games. Because you know, whatever is so Wizards, is so happening.

Although the Wizards beat the Pacers/Bulls with Beal and without him they didn't.

What's crazy is outside of the Celtics & Bucks the East has been very mediocre so far yet the Wizards still can't take advantage even with the early 'fools gold' wins against teams missing their stars due to injury or rest.
Indy is a playoff team until they make some moves. Chicago isn't any good but with the light protections on their pick they've got motivation to not tank. Charlotte seems to be doing the subtle tank with LaMelo out. They may be hard to catch. 6th spot seems realistic.

There is nothing to worry about, lads. The team is dealing with a lot of injuries right now, of course they're losing games. Everything will be fine soon and they'll make a push for the play-in tournament. Just like the mastermind Ted planned...

Re: GT #26: Bullets @ Pacers 7 PM (NBCSW/980 AM)
I’m now down to taping and watching a couple of minutes per quarter. It’s just no fun. Input in, output out.
A team with 20 or so players who should be somewhere between 9-15th on an NBA depth chart.
A super max guy who should be your number four option, though he sux on catch and shoots, so that’s debatable as well. A unicorn who would be pretty good as a back up stretch 5, but instead chucks 25 shots a night.
And a coach without an ounce of creativity - playing the same offense used in Denver — which works there because they have a thoroughly unique point center in Jokic. Hmm, plugging Gafford into the Jokic role doesn’t work? Who would have guessed.
Best thing I can say for this team is that we’ve stockpiled a healthy stable of role players. If say, Durant and LeBron had a pact and said let’s go win a chip with Washington, we could do it because all the mediocre players we have would be bumped down one notch in responsibility. And of course with LeBron and KD in the house, Junior Wes would be irrelevant.
Such a shx show.
