France looks ok and beatable. I think Portugal may have had the best team however they got Greece 2004'd again.

This is France's M.O. under Deschamps. During his reign they look bad as or more often than they look good but when they really need a goal they seem to always be able to pull one out of a hat before falling back asleep.

France looked shaky but they are still and have been the team to beat this tournament

From what it looks like, yeah it’s England fans. I won’t post it in here, but one of the fans told Saka that he hopes he gets deported to Nigeria (his parents country)

That’s a partly why I always root against England in World Cup , this fans don’t deserve to win s#it

And why teams like Croatia and Morocco is so easy to root for , you can’t deport Moroccan from Morocco

every team/country have idiot fans

also people are gonna say stupid ****. you have thousands of IG comments, a few are bound to be stupid ass people. just the nature of the beast.

I have always believed Messi is LeBron, Ronaldo is Durant. Messi is the "do it all" soccer player, Ronaldo is a good scorer. Messi always was the better soccer player, and can help his team win games, even when he isint scoring. He is more valuable to any team.

As a soccer casual I don't even see how it can be much of an argument when Ronaldo doesn't even have goal scoring advantage. In NHL there is the more well rounded player Crosby vs the goal scorer Ovechkin but the latter can at least say he was clearly better at goals (and GOAT at it). The stats don't back that up for Ronaldo vs Messi though with Messi having crazy years where he scored 60-70 goals and more than 1 per game.

My assumption is that the best non Messi/Ronaldo players who scores less goals than Ronaldo but do other things more was probably closer to surpassing him in impact than the hype. It must be possible for a dominant midfielder to be better impact than Ronaldo finisher style despite scoring comparatively less goals.

Durant was likable early in his career.

Was Ronaldo ever likable?

yea but LeBron has more career points than Durant, same concept.

Messi vs. Ronaldo is more like MJ vs. Kobe if they crossed paths in the same era...Kobe is just a worse version in every way, despite him being great himself.

Interesting article on a dude who studied penalty kicks.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Messi has suffered the most humiliating defeats you can imagine, Ronaldo is also two years older and his coach is a moron. Ronaldo ended the goat debate in 2016 when he won the Euro cup, Messi is a good player but Ronaldo has had the better career.

Ronaldo has a bad rep with the media and has been unfairly targeted his whole career. Messi is a scumbag and showed his true colors once again in the Netherlands game, but the media and casuals will always treat him as a saint. He's a snake and has gotten countless amount of coaches and team staff fired simply because he's a mental midget that chokes in every big game.

Not really. Known more as a diver and a showboater than anything.

Ronaldo barely played in the Final in 2016, and he's never gotten as far as Messi did the WC (who may even win this year). And I don't think anyone can seriously blame the media for Ronaldo's bad rep. Just look at the mess he's created in the last two months alone.

I prefer Messi straight up, and do agree that he's a more natural playmaker. But Ronaldo has almost 200 career assists. That's a hell of a lot of creation for a player who, unquestionably, is score first. That sounds a lot like LeBron to me.

Ronaldo's not bad, but as a playmaker/passer, Messi has always been light-years ahead of him.

The comparisons will never be perfect, but I always saw Messi = Lebron. Lebron & Ronaldo comparison gets thrown around because it's an easy one...the athleticism/demeanor/marketability just jumps out as an easy comparison (Not that Messi isn't athletic/marketable)

When it comes to the actual game, I think Messi's/Lebron's ability to be all time greats as both scorers and playmakers makes the comparison work. I would compare CR7 to Kobe (with better stats). And CR7 absolutely is a great playmaker in his own right, but Messi is on another level.
