See lack of talent is not our problem, our issue is mostly poor roster construction. Why have Cam, Patty and Seth when you already have KD and Kyrie on a max contract. We need size and athleticism at the wing positions, not more scorers.

Really happy for Sharpe that he got to show something. Hope this gives him the confidence to play his role aggressively when he gets some spot minutes.

We overloaded at the guard for sure, I just disagree that we need more wings. I mean look-> KD, Royce, Joe, Ben, Yuta, Kess and TJ. Where other wings will be getting minutes from?

We need shooting PF/C combo with experience. Kelly Olynik is my best option. I will also entertain Joe and Cam trade to Orlando Tragic. Isaac is redundant out there.

Isaac has DPOY potential, I would be ecstatic if we can have him, he just can't stay healthy. Imagine him and KD side by side, the length is ridiculous.

One of the best coached games I've ever seen. I thought the substitutions were brilliant. I worried that he might have left Morris on the bench too long near the end. But, within minutes, he was back in. When we have our full team back I might want to try a bigger player on Haliburton, at least situationally. Simmons would probably be the answer but, in a pinch, Yuta might be mobile enough. He hurt us last game too.

It might be because I could finally see them all play. But for the first time I feel optimistic about our depth. This could have been an aberration, but have we been wasting Cam? He was awesome and clutch. Sharpe showed promise also, particularly against someone like Myles. He scored and rebounded. I didn't know if Morris was under-performing or on a minutes restriction but expected, when we got him, that he would be used more. He can shoot, even if not a big scorer. But his toughness and size really help. All I can say about Patty is I love the guy and want him on my team. I expected it, but Yuta was really important, particularly after such a long layoff. Finally, Sumner is young as far as league play, but seems to also be a keeper. I still want a back up big (four or five), but the way we have been playing, I'm not quite as desperate. I can wait 'till January if necessary.

I thought I'd seen everything. But I can't believe we won.

I think you're right, but to me position doesn't matter as much as we need physicality and athleticism. If you bring in a 6'9 guy with strength into our lineup alongside our other length, you can easily play KD at the faux 5 without getting killed.

I don't get the obsession with getting another big. Whose minutes/role is that big going to take? Nic's, Ben's, KD's, Warren's? The team needs a PG, preferably one with size, that can table set, defend and hit an open shot. For example, a much younger version of Dragic. The hope is that Summer can get there, but that's not something to bank on this year.

Our size is fine underneath. It's the perimeter defense and size that's an issue.

Last thoughts .....just want to enjoy this unlikely win. This ties the season series at 2-2.

Even a great coach like Rick Carlisle had no way to prepare against what we put out there tonight. Got to give credit to all our players who showed heart and who fought hard to come back from being down 11 to go on to win.

Edit: How about those O boards!!!

We gotta give JV his flowers in this game. If this game was coached by Nash? You get the point...

We're all feeling warm and fuzzy straight after an unexpected win and I love how this game has given our long suffering bench players a jolt of confidence. I still don't see how this performance translates to fitting these pieces into our regular rotation but the confidence can't possibly hurt

- Yuta was awesome, high IQ, high energy, just stay healthy and Yuta will be playing good minutes for us. Picking up Yuta has really made me feel better about not keeping Bruce Brown, I'd extend Yuta now if the cap allows.

- Cam was awesome but every single basket he made barring 2 (the spot up 3 in the corner and a drive after an offensive rebound by Sharpe) was pure isoball with him dribbling and noone else touching it. Unless if JV trusts him to lead the 2nd unit offensively he's wasted on our team since his strengths are all wasted as a role player. A team like the Raptors (opposite of us, full of role playing athletes and no scorers) can really use him, so maybe a trade of Cam for one of their athletes will help both teams.

- Not seeing it from Sharpe, his biggest strength is offensive rebounding but he's not switchable at all on defense and he struggles to finish inside offensively. He's a 12th man cheerleader at this stage.

- Happy for Patty, he's the ultimate teammate and he's rotting on the bench on this team. I'd look for a Seth trade since they play the exact same role, Patty has the better intangibles and I'd guess Seth has more trade value.

If I was Marks I'd pick up the phone and offer Cam and Seth plus a pick for OG Anunoby, he's exactly what we need.

Man just watch 4th Q of last night game, you will see more than enough.

He probably isn’t trying, nor should he as a defensive Center in the regular season. Might have lost a step or two since GSW though.

Our problem isn't KD in that instance, the lineup was Kyrie/Seth/Joe Harris/Royce O'Neal/KD

Replace KD with Gobert and that lineup still can't guard anyone. Smart money says if you can't guard anyone anyway, you might as well gamble and hope for a steal.

Sure, don’t really watch the Nets games but follow them somewhat because I remain a big KD fan, and to a lesser extent because as an Australian NBA fan I wouldn’t mind seeing something of a Simmons redemption arc.

I think we both agree on what I said originally, he can be useful defensively even playing center (as you say with an appropriate roster) in the play-offs, but shouldn’t be banging too much with the remaining true center sized players in the regular season.

Every game it becomes more and more apparent how awful Nash was. Can anyone even imagine him winning a game like this?

Vaughn comes into every game with us looking prepared and ready. Not saying hes Phil Jackson. But hes not bad at all!!!

How many games did we lose due to incompetent coaching in the last few years? Marks really fumbled our window.

But hey give Cam and the young guns some credit.

Yuta being back was desperately needed. Lets hope Simmons is ready to go full time soon.

I am very much looking forward to seeing a fully healthy Nets team moving forward.

3 seed is very much in reach now.

I completely disagree with everything here.

What I see is that Jaque Vaughn, Morris, Nic and TJ starting put their influence on this team. They overcoming and providing something that stat sheet don't show. They building chemistry and toughness. It will take time and hopefully come PO this team will be ready.

I will irate if I see fluke crap Saltic soft azz clowns. Paper chumps always will be exposed. Tatum is puss* and will get punked once you start leaning on that girl. Just touch up and grope his azz and he will give it up like candy.

You need a dog like Giannis, Dray, Klay, Ginobili etc players to win one. We got more than one now to say least.

Replied to the wrong poster.

Many people can not afford to go to an NBA game and this could be the one game they picked. This is disgraceful, the NBA should do whatever they have to do to keep the fans from being fleeced. I would sooner lower the amount of games than allow this to continue.

Unless the kid is specifically a Nets or Nets player fan, it's not a big deal. As a kid, I am happier seeing my team win versus a loss to a star studded team.

There were definitely parents who brought tix for kids who wanted to see KD.

I guess I was wrong. Imagine paying for tickets to see your overachieving team lose to a minutes restricted Yuta and a bunch of end of bench/G-League call ups?

That being said, it was an extremely fast paced and entertaining game. If the stars played, it would have been another iso-fest.

The hole is Tatum can’t handle pressure in big game situations. Him deferring to Brown won’t help them; the Celtics-Warriors reminded me how awful the Celtics were two years ago. I have a feeling they are gonna lose more games and fall down. I hope that happens and their fanbase goes to sleep.

• They took a gamble on Brogdan because GP2 abused White and was shutting down Marcus Shart at guard. They lack playmaking at guard. Pritchard is unplayable liability.
• Tatum IS SOFT PUNK. once you start putting pressure on him he will become mediocre. Happened vs us last game, happened last year and GSW did it again last night.
• AL and Blake washed up, TimeTrash is brittle as it gets. If he's not hurt he's limping around.

If legit teams like us, GSW, Bucks and Miami ( with healthy Dipo ) will start poking these holes, Saltics will fold. JB is to streaky and not much of a playmaker to get them over their deficiencies.

They Brad Stevens led team with soft mentality like himself. Ime did wonders for them last year, they going to miss him soon when games will really matter. They had lots of things that went their way early in a season. Soft schedule, injuries etc, later in a season teams will start testing them because most of them will be in a PO.

Cam balled out because he got the green light. I wish he can CONSISTENTLY play like this when the regulars are playing.

I was watching the game on and off, but i just watched the replay and the level of team basketball was really fun to watch.

I have to say, Day'ron Sharpe imo has earned a another look at for center mins. His number was called and he was ready. He had some gaffes but overall he played solid basketball

Cam with a huge 4th. I'm still not a fan because he needs to learn how to score efficiently without having the green light like he did last night but i give him his props.

Sumner had the best quote: Be a star in your role. If KD and Kyrie are in, focus on defense and hitting shots. If they're not in, step up and be aggressive.

Gotta give the guys and Vaughn credit. They went in hard. They didn't mail it in at all. If this was a Nash coached team it would be a 40 point loss. Vaughn? No sir. Everyone was playing hard, the offense was being run, and guys were well prepared

I won't second guess JV again. He's earned his job.

Cam has to be the best scorer on a bad team where everything revolves around him. He's a ball stopper with tunnel vision. You can't have that on a team of proven veterans.
