So you are saying our offense is one of the best, but our defense is turrible? lol. I hate to change things while we are winning but this feels like something Crowder would help a lot with.

Well I think our offense could even get better actually if we take a look at being 21st in 2 point FGA. Also our opponets shooting 4th best in the league on FT's, not sure if that is a luck thing or who we have played like the Warriors 3 times.

But yeah if we make a move, someone who can hit an open shot, play D and maybe rebound a bit would be nice.

This team needs to upgrade their defense but I like what I'm seeing so far overall.

Fox is averaging over 40% from 3. Big time development.

I was hoping we could go 1-2 on this trip, so goal achieved, but it might be asking too much to beat Atlanta on back to back nights, unless Davis and someone else can take some minutes and score. The bench is struggling against the better teams.

And 84% from the FT line which is just as big. Now we just need the officials to start giving him some calls...

Western Conference is leading the East 44-40.

The Kings (6-1) are the team that deserves thanks.

My observation of this team is their closing unit has the tendency to shrink against solid defensive teams. Adding another vet like Crowder probably isn't a bad idea.

Are we getting a Monte extension soon? I think the man deserves it.

The Monk signing has been awesome
The TD trade was sneaky good
He scooped up Metu and the team has developed him into a serviceable rotation player
Dumped Buddy and Bagley
Another sneaky pickup in Lyles who has been solid
The Huerter trade is paying off

This is without even getting into draft picks which ill put him as TBD. The Hali pick obviously paid off. Mitchell is coming into his own, and Murray I think figures it out although Mathurin looks awesome.

You look at how Boston and Phoenix are playing at the moment and you realize those two games weren't bad from the Kings at all. They played decent D for stretches of that game, but guys like Tatum and Booker are just on another level.

They have taken a step forward with contesting without fouling and also a lot of teams are shooting mid-range shots and missing which would obviously be a goal for the team (except the great mid range shooters like the ones mentioned).
And it's no coincidence that Davion has played well during that stretch and Brown seems to have given him more minutes as he is producing.
Okpala has played well too and if he can give 8-10 minutes in the middle two quarters of the game then that is great because there simply isn't a long defender on this roster.

I still want to see more of this season before handing a contract extension to anyone.

It looks like Monte has hit a lot of his moves out of the park but I would still wait imo.

This season is the result of the work he has done to this point in reworking this team.

He absolutely deserves an extension.

Don't look now but the Kings are 16th in defensive rating.

Looking good in the opponent's fast break points and 2nd chance points. The paint points are the area of concern as we all know.
Still think this team needs a defensive upgrade at some point but gotta give credit where credit is due to all the guys for making improvements.

Monte should be extended. Even his most arguable move, the Hali trade, was inspired by the push from Vivek and Domas is damn fitting/good. But FAs/draft/random pick ups/coaching eval etc. he knows his stuff. Bogi also should have never been matched, which I said at the time

I'm onboard with giving Monte an extension.

What major moves Monte got right:
Draft picks- Hali, Davion

Traded for- Sabonis, Heurter, Davis, Lyles

Traded away- Bagley, Buddy

FA Signings- Monk

Re-signed Kings- Fox

Let Walk: Bogi, Donte DiVencenzo

Hiring- Mike Brown

What major moves Monte got wrong:
Draft picks- none

Traded for- Thompson

Traded away- Haliburton

FA signings- none

Re-signed Kings- Holmes

Let Walk- none

Hiring- none

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's too early to declare right/wrong moves for the 2022 draft class, however Keegan looks like a stud. Ivey, Mathurin, and Sharpe look great as well. So this item gets no grade from me.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Hawks have been trying to move Bogi for a long time but are unable to due to injuries. I believe Monte made the right decision letting him walk for nothing.

There are a number of smaller moves I approve of like the signings of KZ, Chima, and Keon Ellis. Drafting Queta. I loved Cory Joesph for Delon Wright trade.

Smaller moves i disliked are the signings of Whiteside and Len. Its hard to critique a GM on 2nd round picks but drafting Woodard and Ramsey were both complete misses by a mile.

With the news, Monte will be extended early in the new year what does everyone think the extension will look like? ie how many years?
I still think he is tied to a Sabonis extension as well unless of course, he trades him for a superstar caliber player etc.
