Piston Open To Trading Saddiq Bey For 'Right Price'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Dec 13, 2022 1:31 pm

The Detroit Pistons are listening when they get trade calls on a number of veterans on their roster. Detroit is also, somewhat surprisingly, open to listening when they get calls about third-year forward Saddiq Bey.

Bey is having an up-and-down year, as he's gone back and forth from starting to coming off the bench. After acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic, the Pistons opened the season with Bey and Bogdanovic starting together. In recent weeks, they've transitioned to starting two traditional big men and bringing Bey off the bench.

That has Detroit open to moving Bey for the "right price". What that "right price" is remains an open question. It is clear that the Pistons aren't shutting down suitors though.

Unless you are an absolute superstar, every player on every team can be moved for the right price.

Nah we should keep him and continue to let him develop. Streaky? Yes. But he's got very high potential. I also don't want to see this turn into another Khris Middleton situation either.

14.8 PTS on FG 40.2% 3P% 29.9
4.4 RB, 1.8 AST, 0.9 STL, 0.2 BLK

No, those numbers mean he’s a player who’s untouchable, for any price.

I’m guessing the Lakers will be rumored to acquire a package of Bojan, Bey, Cunningham, and the Pistons first rounder pick this season for Russ.

Might as well keep him unless you just want to get him out of town. Has his value around the league been lower?

Nah it's never been as low as it is now. Splits are down, and he's been in and out of the lineup. Def worth keeping him around, he's one of our only accomplished wings that can score at 3 levels outside of Bogey.
