It's not even a joke. If they gave a penalty before, then this should have been a foul too...

What a joke that penalty was.

You can argue Alvarez collided on to the keeper. The keeper had the right to be there.

There's a sense that for whatever reason they want to give the WC to Argentina, so this is becoming a clown show to watch.

Offensively the Croatian forwards are making bad decisions one after the other...

Unlike them

they are getting exposed as old and slow .

Maybe Lovren. But the rest are pretty young. Gavrdiol, their star defender is only 20.

Messi can intentionally handle the ball with no carding and gets to the PK spot at least once guaranteed per match.

Just end the tournament right now lol

Messi has been active around the pitch today. Last game, he was in the front all game.

That's not how it works. In both cases, the keeper had zero claim to the ball whereas the attacker was in control and had just played the ball. The penalty was clear, as was the call. If the keeper made even the slightest contact with the ball, it would be a different story.

I think that's what the coach wants. Just don't give up another one here. And hope you can turn it around after the half.

The keeper prevented him from continuing his run and ball still live. No different than anywhere else in run of play. Clear pen.

A foul is a foul. there's not some quota for fouls to give or not give.

Ref had no choice but to give the call there, imho.

Gvardiol is getting pulled out of position every time Messi picks up the ball around the middle of the field and it’s causing Croatia big problems. Someone else needs to track Messi because you can’t have your CB pushing so far up to try and win the ball of him.

Oh, the keeper is supposed to vanish into thin air?

If I have the ball and face you up, it's up to me to go around you. It's not up to you to get out of the way, so I can just go in a straight line.

Messi is looking like 2010's Messi right now. Good time to kick it up a gear.

That definitely doesn't apply to every team.
