ORL trades / BRK receives: Carter Jr, Fultz, two 2nd round picks

BRK trades / ORL receives: Simmons

Why this trade works for the Magic: I am not a fan of Ben Simmons. His sit out, injuries and psyche all concern me. With that said, I think he offers the opportunity for the Magic to create a HUGE, special team. This trade only makes sense if Issac comes back healthy and shows he can still be a solid a defensive player. Their new lineup:

PG…Simmons…Suggs
SG…Wagner…Harris
SF…Bol…Ross
PF…Banchero…Okeke
C…Isaac…Bamba

Why this trade works for the Nets: There have been a number of distractions on this team, which was supposed to be a contender. With this trade, the team removes one of them and acquires a decent PG and very good center. Their new lineup:

PG…Fultz…Mills
SG…Irving…Curry
SF…Harris…Warren
PF…Durant…Morris
C…Carter Jr…Claxton

For all his warts, Simmons is too good to dump for two meh players.

Fultz is a meh-to-below-meh player. WCJ is a legit starting talent. But I dont think BRK is ready to walk away from the Harden deal with a nice starter like WCJ - they will still buy into the allure of what Ben could be if he wasnt Ben between the ears.

magic keep wcj and his contract pass on simmons contract and draft a guard with what looks like 2 lottery picks
bol can go to bench come in with bamba and anthony when/if ji is ready to start.... second half this yr and next season should be fun
