I really don't get half of you here. So now AD is god's gift to basketball? So we're all supposed to forget the 6-billion injuries/missed games? Street clothes?? Ring a bell?? Remember how that rung (pardon the pun) so true??

No?? That's all gone? 10-12 good games, and it all never happened, huh??

My only solace, is that if all y'all can quickly forget .....then so can other GM's.

Sell high.... The only way we see a title team in the next 5 years is by rebuilding with what a Davis trade would bring back. If he drops 40 a game over a 5 game winning streak I'd still trade him after the first call. This team isn't winning a chip and as Bron ages in the next 2-3 years we aren't winning one with any team we can muster around them either. It's a slow or slower rebuild IMHO. How many we win on the way to that really doesn't mean much if the target is a championship.

I agree with your approach; however, do you feel confident that Rob and the front office would support Davin Hamm with a rebuild?

Hamm might have been hired with the belief that he has to take the LeBron-Davis-Westbrook core deep into the playoffs.

Trading Davis away abandons the very reasoning behind hiring Hamm.

if we trade for serviceable players that can contribute now... than yes I trust hamm....

Indiana makes the most sense to trade AD to....

AD, Juan, Nunn and jones...for Turner, hield, andrew nembhard, and TJ.....

Indiana gets to pair haliburton with a superstar... still have Jalen, isiah, duarte, and Benedict

the second best trade would be to Boston, if they feel like need one more piece.... AD,nunn, jones and Juan... for brogdon and jaylen

than trade Beverly and brown for reddish and big H

Perhaps, we are looking at potentially trading away AD through different lenses?

Trading away AD for assets to improve the roster as it is currently constructed will not get the team to becoming a championship contender.

Trading away AD for future assets, younger players and draft capital, will allow for the organization to do a rebuild.

You don't trade a legit MVP candidate. AD is putting up insane numbers in the last 10 games and right now he is a legit MVP and DPOY candidate. He carries the load offensively and on defense he could clear the boards and protect the rim. You only trade him for a player with the same caliber.

Right now, I think based on our needs (bigs) the only worthy player to trade AD with is Jokic or maybe Giannis.

KD should be in the mix if we get a bit more

KD, patty, Seth, TJ package..... AD, Beverly, Nunn, jones,juan....

Looks like a fair trade but my problem in this trade is that we lose a big and Lebron and KD plays the same position. If we can get a starting C then this trade is fine.

Good lord. That's literally, and I mean literally, the worst trade idea I've seen on the Laker board during my 16 years of posting on here.

"The Hawks may have misevaluated their group and needs last offseason. The acquisition of Dejounte Murray has not increased their ceiling and his fit with Trae Young isn’t looking amazing. They could really use Kevin Huerter right now as they rank as one of the league’s worst three-point shooting teams. Atlanta could make a coaching change this season but their biggest issues may be personnel-wise.

The Hawks have several issues that may prevent them from elevating to the next level. They are now down two unprotected first-round picks from the Murray trade and need to be very careful with the remaining tradable picks they have. They are also treading the luxury tax line this season and will need to trade one of their Top 7 highest-paid players if they are to avoid the tax next season. Their conundrum of not being good enough to contend but also not being inspiring enough to make a trade that puts them into the tax could limit them."

from hoopshype...

Murray and Collins for AD makes sense

I would definitely want Caruso in that deal. vooch, derozan, and Caruso.... for Westbrook, Beverly, Nunn, and jones and your first round pick, I would even consider making it unprotected. Lonzo is extremely serviceable, but he cannot stay healthy.

NO. Lakers would get picks. RW0 expiring and Davis is worth 5-6 first rounders for himself

You mean the Caruso who's averaging 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists in over 25 minutes a game???

Look...I like Caruso. Loved the story, and I dig his effort. But stop the romanticizing. The guy is not our answer.

+1
I am totally against trading AD but if we are going that way we should be trading for pile of draft picks and a early 20s star potential so we can start to rebuild.
Lonzo's knees is a big question mark, Caruso is a very good, tough role player and shouldn't play more than 24 mins for a play-off team. Where are we going with Demar? The plan is to trade him for picks etc next year?

I will repeat myself but AD is a special player, rare talent and we have him under contract for at least one more year. The formula to maximize AD's performance is well known, we saw it. Bring Myles Turner and I am sure we will be able to challenge anybody in the league.

Yup... he's never going to play 65 games in a season again... maybe fewer. He's not who you build around post LeBron.

Waiting for Bron to pull that groin agains.... 3....2....1....

If they pulled of a Myles+Buddy or Kuz+Porzingis deal i think they could consider an AD-KD swap.
