As far as GOAT right-backs, or right wing-backs are concerned, for me the conversation only really starts after you've set aside Cafu as the platonic form for the perfect right-back. There's Cafu, and then there's everyone else who is trying to be what Cafu was.

Cafu would own the entire right flank, from box to box, in virtually every game he ever played, for 90 minutes, and without barely breaking a sweat in the process. Cafu defied comprehension.

Many are likely to remember Roberto Carlos, the great Brazilian left-back, for his daring attacking runs, and thunderous left foot. Well, in the 2002 World Cup, Roberto Carlos, 3 years Cafu's junior, was questioned on multiple occasions on why he wasn't attacking as much as he did for his club Real Madrid, with some implying if he was fit or bothered by any issue. His reply was always the same:

"Não dá para atacar com o Cafu a fazer o que ele faz."

"It's impossible to attack with Cafu doing what he does."

Would love to see a Morocco victory today. Not only because they are the underdogs, but their soccer has been superb.
Amrabat is second only to Modric for me in this tournament as far as CMs go.
Morocco make me feel like I’m watching Italia play, with a beautifully European style of futbol. Meanwhile, they have a serie B player on the team.

Unfortunately, it will be France celebrating at the final whistle. But what a final it will be this weekend.

Walid Cheddira?

I think he was one of the players who missed those one-on-ones.

He also should be out as he got 2 yellows last game.

Oops double post. Edit this to shout out Morocco’s GK who has been amazing. Only scored on by his own team thus far

Welp, nothing could have saved him, other than getting to the hospital when he first felt pressure in his chest, but he thought it was bronchitis I guess.

Yep. scary stuff. RIP

I posted this one the CA board:

A ruptured aneurysm can cause massive internal bleeding, which is usually fatal. Around 8 out of 10 people with a rupture either die before they reach hospital or don't survive surgery. The most common symptom of a ruptured aortic aneurysm is sudden and severe pain in the abdomen

https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/heart-and-blood-vessels/conditions/abdominal-aortic-aneurysm[/quote]

It's advised people over 65 get screened for this, especially if you are obese. But Grant was only 49 and looked in decent shape.

For sure. I would freak out and jump right over my desk. I've wanted this to happen for nearly 2 decades.

Man, seeing it from this angle just makes it feel even more "real". Sometimes TV broadcasts feel like a video game (Fifa video game angle high broadcast view), but from down below at ground level it's even more spectacular.
