Of the last 4 French goals 3 of them are from open players with 5+ of the other team defending Mbappe in the box

They said the same thing about Korea in 2002.

How did that turn out?

Should be void because that **** was fixed af, but Korea did make knockouts of this wc against the odd

Getting chippy.

I wonder what the atmosphere is like in France?

As far as I know from my experience with french people, a mix of being pissed off and being blasé... lol

Cheers!

I meant with the African diaspora in France, should've clarified. If everyone's not cheering on France, more surely will be after this game for the final.

But they've never replicated the success of reaching the semis and probably won't for a long time still.

This is very reminiscent of that.

Do you think so?
Bulgarians are still waiting for someone to be half the player Stoichkov was. They are still yet to qualify for a World Cup since that generation retired.

yeah you never know if this is a once in a lifetime, everything lined up perfectly situation or start of something more consistent. Turkey hasnt qualified for the world cup since their semi final appearance. and many of the players are considered traitors by half of the country, for different reasons but still :P

still good appearance by morocco, they showed much more than i expected from them today.

Agreed completely, that's a great way to put it. The future looks very bright for Moroccan football.

What drives me to think so, in contrast to other world cup Cinderella teams (the Bulgarian stagnation post-Stoichkov, Balakov, Kostadinov) is that Morocco has exported a consistent stream of really talented players for several decades now, as far as back as the late 80's early 90's.

At long last they found a way to put it together at the national level. They are here to stay as a competitive team that can beat anyone on any day.

Welp, Morocco was still the first African team to make the semis. That's still a milestone.

Don't sleep on the 3rd place game. Morocco should still try hard for that.

Lot of their diaspora opt to play for them as well. I'm looking at their team, and they still play for for decent clubs at a young age.

Great run from Morocco. They even made this one a game despite going down 1-0 right away and having to play a different style.

depends on what Morocco does to reach the next stage; lacking a striker is the main problem which needs to be addressed

Yeah Croatia looked well worn out early. But if this tournament has taught us anything, it's expectations be damned.
