7 - Ind - Skoronski - OT
8 - Las - Wilson - Edge
9 - Pit - Johnson Jr. - OT
10 - Ari - Bresee - DT
11 - Car - Richardson - QB
12 - Hou - Mayer - TE
13 - Jax - Johnston - WR
14 - GB - Murphy - Edge

The Packers took a step backward this season and have a bunch of needs, including safety, receiver, offensive line, tight end and edge rusher. I'm going best available in Murphy, my No. 8 prospect. He brings burst, power and bend off the edge, and he'd prove versatile in Green Bay's scheme. Rashan Gary will be coming off a torn ACL next season, and the Packers have managed only 24 sacks this season (tied for 26th). Murphy has the tools to be a force in the NFL.

If the Packers remain stuck in the middle of the first, this wouldn't be the worst way for the board to fall, with four QBs going ahead of them. From a positional perspective a RB and TE going high would be nice too, even if they're both needs for GB. At this spot they'd have their choice of defensive backs and most of the WRs. That said, I'd go with Murphy too. He's a top 5-10 talent who compares favorably to Gary.

What's the perceived strength by position of this draft - after QB at least? Several teams need QBs, so that block gets a nod.

Edge rushers are probably the strength of the draft. There will be guys available into the 2nd and 3rd that teams will be thrilled to have.

Wide receiver is probably the weak position in the draft. Off ball linebacker is another.

If there's strong Edge picks, I could see that route. Who knows when and how well Gary comes back from his injury. Does Preston become a Cap casualty this off-season, or will he be retained for another go? So... an Edge could be the BPA and fill a need.

Safety and TE (to my mind) are probably the next biggest sure-thing needs, but those don't necessarily need to be filled via the draft. Savage should be gone or sent to the bench, Amos losing a step or two?, Deguara will be the only TE on the payroll, I believe and he's just a guy .

The real wild cards will be what will happen with Bahktiari and Jenkins. If the FO thinks one or both are gone, then OT's get picked early.

As much as they need a #1 WR, the other holes are worse. Watson, Doubs, Toure', and some outsider will need to carry on. Lazard, Cobb, and Watkins are probably gone.

Pleasantly surprised to see Murphy slip to 14 in that mock. I'd run the card up with zero hesitation if he's there. Think he'll be a beast in the NFL.

Edge is really the only defensive position I'd be cool with in the 1st.

Any good round 1-3 little fast gadgety type WRs? Basically a good version of what we hoped Amari would be? I feel like a guy like that would really fit in nicely.

I'd also be cool going TE early in this draft.

I wouldn't necessarily label him as "gadgety" but Zay Flowers out of Boston College is a receiver in that range I've watched a bit on this season. Has aligned all over (Slot, Stacks/Bunch, Outside) the field and is explosive in space. He's only 5"10, and 175 Ibs, so teams might want to see him add some weight.

Josh Downs from North Carolina is another smaller/slot type and he's a three-sport athlete with a big vertical, so that might help combat some of his size limitations.

Kayshon Boutte was my dark horse WR of this draft but he decided to go back to LSU. He didn't have the production, but he's built like AJ Brown and has shown flashes in open space.

Saw a mock that had Jaxon Smith-Njigba available with our pick. This dude completely outclassed Olive and Garret Wilson the previous season and both those guys were top 15 picks and looking really good in the NFL. Him with Watson and Doubs would be the perfect trio for us.

Just some un-scientific observations on the 2022 draft class from watching the last few games(and yes, it's a small sample set): They all look like real NFL players at this late point of their first season, with the exceptions of Sean Rhyan and Rasheed Walker.

Slow starts for most of them, notably Q Walker, Wyatt, Tom, Engabarre, and Watson, but steady and sometimes spectacular progress as the seasons gone on. Doubs flashed early, then some up and down play coupled with injuries have slowed his progress a bit, but he appears to be a real keeper. Toure and Carpenter have played useful snaps. I'll be patient on Rhyan and we'll see how he progresses by next fall.

A very solid class at this point of their careers.

Probably my favorite lineman prospect so far this year. I think Bahk's future is in doubt (at least in GB) and adding another versatile lineman to go with Tom and Jenkins would be awesome. Johnson is massive, plays physically, and has started all over the line, mostly at right guard and left tackle. He projects as a first-rounder, so not sure if Gute and his staff would go that high for a lineman or not, as they usually do so well finding O-Line gems later in the draft.

Vegas with a much lighter SOS than Pittsburgh, which currently has the same SOS as the Packers. It may not end up meaning anything, but Vegas winning tonight helps.

I think his floor is Mercedes Lewis, but his ceiling is Gronk. He is so athletic for his size and his hands are magnificent.

I dont see it with any of the QB's mocked in the first round this year. Would love to see us get another edge rusher but really hope to see us go for a pass catching TE at some point, Doubs and Watson shown enough for me to now need another WR this year.
