Some of my favorite years to watch the Pistons.

94-99 - The Building years after drafting Grant Hill, even with no playoff series wins it was great exciting basketball. Really killed us when Houston went to New York but a young Hunter/Houston/Hill/JYD/Ratliff with vets like Dumars and Mills... Was great to see that group grow up from rookies.

2000 - 2004 Obviously the going to work era Pistons were great, and also a bit of lightning in a bottle as far as starting from scratch when a superstar leaves (Grant Hill) to quickly building a championship winning team. It's not something you can really expect Weaver or any GM to ever replicate again unless its a team that signs a bunch of big name FA stars... but we also got to see younger players mature into all stars and a great role player in Prince and it was a pretty awesome time to be a Pistons fan.

It's a million times more enjoyable to watch a young team building something up than it is to see an older vet team trying to add win now pieces just to make the playoffs. The worst years to watch were pretty much all of the Drummond years.... or pretty much all the SVG years were we missed on the right draft picks and we didn't have the talent but still made plenty of win now moves that never really paid off (although the Harris trade was solid for us).

Might be time to just sit back and watch and enjoy the growth of the young guys, get excited to see Duren possibly become the youngest player of all time to grab 20 rebounds in a game... or see the next insane dunk from Ivey... or even enjoy watching a vet liek Bojan go to work and light up the defense for 25 in a quarter. There's some good **** out there too even with all the losing we've been doing this season and even with no Cade.

Yeah I’ve watched every game so far this season and I’m having a lot of fun, even with the Cade disappointment

In for Hayes/Stew. Little bit of Ivey/Knox.

I'll never understand fans who talk about how much they hate watching the team yet continue to post in every GDT or at least most of them.
I get that the team can be a tough watch at times especially without Cade but if I hated watching the games so much, I wouldn't watch them but that's just me.

I haven't watched all the games but most of the ones I've watched have been competitive for the most part so I don't think it's been THAT much of a grind to watch. It's fun to see the growth of the young guys as well. Killian and Stew showing improvements, Duren playing beyond his years, Ivey showing flashes, Knox showing flashes of what made him a top 10 pick etc. There's some good stuff happening despite the record.

Also, it’s a pastime. If it’s not fun, spend your time better ….

I like growth - its just tough to see Stewart or Hayes being the kind of guys that are going to help the team be a top 4 team in the East.

Stewart has a much better chance of being someone that would be like a Middleton type guy - but still hard.

I think of ECF type teams in the last few years and at PF its Giannis, Horford, Durant, Butler is the Heat PF right?. These guys are stars.

Hayes I still havent caught one of his excellent games and I hate clips. Basketball is hard to cut a clip and show anything important - so many important things like has the team been on a cold streak, how has the other team been playing defense, etc, that you dont get. Its dribblig for 3 seconds and a shot.

I will watch tonight and see how Hayes is doing. The last two times he wasnt anything good. I may be bad luck.

Remember "The Alternatorz" headed by Jon Barry?

I've watched every game, every minute, but if we're down 30, I won't pause it when I go grab a snack. But, I do like to see the development, the struggle, and when we win a title, it absolves the constant losing after winning a title in the 80s, 90s, and 00's, but missing the last decade.

Scoring is very spread out. All 10 guys have made at least one basket in the 1st half.

Bojan 13
Hayes 9
Duren 7
Stew 6
CoJo 6
Knox, Bagley, Burks, Ivey with 5 each
Bey the low man with just 2 on 1-2 shooting in 9 minutes.

Duren double double watch 7 points and 10 rebounds in the first half.

Horrible start to the 2nd half with the Kings on a 14-2 start to go up four just a few minutes into the 2nd half.

I wish Casey was quicker with his timeouts, and changes when its obvious it's just not working.

Oh well, not a big deal anymore this season, just an observation.
