How were the Nets 'a mess' in terms of Harden?

Every year under the reboot, they put together a bunch of talent around their stars, spent top money for some of the best / largest coaching & fitness staffs, and have catered to their stars as much as you'll ever see.

If there's someone who's chronically unprofessional about taking care of himself and living the 'pure athlete's life,' it's mos def Harden. From what I understand, he was rather legendary in HOU with his after game strip-club visits, hooker parties, and boozing it up.

Marks actually let him continue his ways with BRK, and you can find articles on this shizzle if you google it up.

Especially annoying about this interview is that at best, he's only hinting at what he MIGHT have had issue with. It's mainly just gas & fumes as I read it.

Its been well documented there has been free reign for Kyrie and Durant to run the whole team. Nash was just a puppet. Common man. Harden was unprofessional sure but don’t act like the Nets were run like a conventional franchise

I can understand why Nets fans were upset. But it wasn't Harden's fault that Kyrie was an anti-vax idiot. It wasn't Harden's fault that it appears Nash was overmatched as a coach in the playoffs.

Nets fans need to own the dysfunction that Harden was frustrated with. HE was the one who played 47 minutes on a hamstring tear. HE was the one who tried to carry the team when KD got hurt and Kyrie was an anti-vax idiot.

3 stars and he was the closest to experience with leading a team. the other two had none

PLEASE.
Harden-KD-Kyrie and supporting cast was an absolute badass, championship roster.

@Lalouie
"he was the closest to experience with leading a team. the other two had none"
KD had recently won two titles as the lead player, dude.

If they were a "badass, championship roster" then BE ANGRY AT KYRIE. HE was the one who put the cyanide in the water supply.

Harden didn't want to drink that water anymore.

This thank you. it was the same in Houston. They were rebuilding, Morey was gone as well as D'Antoni. People acting like he needed to be there with such a **** owner is BS.

Houston was a crap-show as well. Fertitta blew that ish up. An absolute idiot.

Fertitta blew up Houston. Full Stop.

Kyrie's "flat earth" ish was the reason Harden wanted out. Harden had just PLAYED FORTY SEVEN MINUTES ON A TORN HAMSTRING for crissakes...and then tried to carry the Nets when KD got hurt. He needed help, and Kyrie said "bite me".

This is insane.

Harden quit because KD got hurt AND KYRIE DID HIS ANTI-VAX ISH.

Nets fans with all this revisionist history. LOL. There was TONS OF REPUTABLE REPORTING that Harden had had enough of Kyrie's selfish ish...and of KD being TOO MUCH OF A FKN WIMP LEADER to say ANYTHING to get Kyrie to play.

Some superstars talk too much about what they couldn't do on the court after doing all they could off court to get what they want.

We all knew that Harden and Morey would ultimately end up together again. Nets felt like a place holder.

KD doesn't give half effort on the court in an attempt to leave the franchise, that I've seen Harden do, he is the defacto definition of a quitter.

KD is still with the Nets and looks to be doing a professional job of keeping them in the mix. Harden left. Harden shouldn't be bringing this up.

…but Harden still quit, man. Twice.

Yeah, Ferttita is a garbage owner. Yeah, Kyrie is a freaking nutcase. But Harden still dogged it for both teams. I don’t blame Harden for wanting out of either situation, but he could’ve done so while still being a professional and giving his all on the court. He didn’t, and that is worthy of criticism.

All of your posts in this thread defending him are doing the same thing he’s trying to do with his comments— attempting to justify why he quit.

How does PLAYING FORTY SEVEN MINUTES ON A TORN HAMSTRING equate to "quitting"?

I'll wait.

Maybe - just maybe - he couldn't do his normal off-season routine after PLAYING FORTY SEVEN MINUTES ON A TORN HAMSTRING IN AN ELIMINATION GAME? How about that? Huh?

And, "fat" or not, dude was playing at an MVP level to start last season. But you know that.

You literally started one of your posts in this thread with “Harden quit because…,” and now you’re saying he didn’t quit?

Why did you say that then? LOL.

Regarding the topic, yes Harden is a quitter in this situation....but I do understand why and it was apparent from the get go. Honestly, him pointing out the importance of organizational structure gives me some measure of hope for the pro athlete....then again he's on the older side (more mature)
