Had to, there's no other way. Leonard saw that as a slight and vowed for a 30-point plus game just to get back at Brian Windhorst. One rebound away from a double-double, but again, he's not into accomplishments; he only cares about wins. The 30 PTS was necessary as the rest of the roster was struggling against a lottery team. The only way he'd gotten a double-double was if it was tied to game-winning play: say a Wizard player missed a shot, and Leonard had to grab a rebound to ensure there was no extra possession. Something like that.

At this point, the world no longer sees Clippers as a competitor; their losing history precedes them too much. Instead, it's become Kawhi Leonard vs. (insert team here), not necessary a one man band but it does feel like he has to carry the entire franchise on his back. This could pose a problem for other teams to try to exploit: make Leonard beat them instead of his teammates. Talk about Michael Jordan, opponents will now try to pull an Allen Iverson like how the Lakers did it to win their title in 2001.
