Yeah, i would have more regrets with the draft that had Mobley at the freaking 3rd spot. Cav's did in one season - tanking hard and trading cheap for Allen & cie - what the Hornets could not do in decades (for Kemba's teams or for Ball's team).

was it a sign of bricks that both centres got near 20 rebounds?

Maybe not in Duren's case given he's averaging 14 boards over his last four games. Wouldn't have to shore up the defense by himself with Eason around.

I didn't follow last draft very close and don't really have an opinion about who the best center prospect was. Duren and Kessler both seem kind of nice, but Williams has looked every bit as good as them when they've been in similar settings. I suspect if this team wasn't so silly and were giving Williams minutes he'd probably look pretty nice too. Hopefully we get to find out sooner than later.

Let's be honest, Cliff wouldn't be playing Duran either.

Yeah I have no doubt that Williams can do exactly what Duren is doing given the minutes, he's an innate rebounder and shotblocker

We are just very backwards as an organization

I mean hell, Cliff complains about not being able to defend yet we have the ACC defensive player of the year stashed in Greensboro.

You can't play them rookies in their first year. You gotta make 'em earn their stripes and haze them in the first year - the Hornets organisation

Should've been the national defensive player of the year as well.

When they hired Clifford the dog back, I knew Mark Williams would be toast here. Why the man has to be so freaking dogmatic is beyond me, but hey…you can’t say the Hornets didn’t know he was a non-developer of young players.

This team is so dang depressing. Bad enough they make moronic moves like trading away the 13th pick for next year’s pitiful lower pick; it’s another that they are driving this team into a disaster with a retread coach who won’t adjust his approach.

Who here thinks LaMelo is seeing all this and being patient? I guarantee you he’s already making plans to either force a trade or enter free agency at first opportunity.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Yeah, I already kind of get the vibe that hes counting down the days til he can force his way out of Charlotte.

You remember when Mitch complained about the rookies not getting any developmental PT last year (right around the time they fired JB), despite them **** for playoff positioning?

He then goes and panic hires Cliff. Now they have the worst record in the league, already out of the playoff hunt before the turn of the new year, and who wants to place bets on when Mark finally sees real game time?

If we're going to ride the "Cliff hates and won't play young guys" narrative, will need to address how Kai Jones is getting 16 MPG in our last 10 games.
