Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

This 100%.
Too many are caught up in production.
I get having those extra years of control for the rookies, sophomore etc but at some point you got to say let's be real. Jaylen Brown is probably the best second option right now league wide. Find me a better two way player whose putting up 27/8/4/2 on those percentages. Hell he would be a lot of teams first option and would take a haul to get. Can you really see Boston taking Franz Wagner for Brown 1 for 1? I can't you'd probably have to include those firsts to even get them interested

Correct. But what you are explaining is based on team needs. More teams would bid on Wagner than on the risk of 1.5 can’t extend Brown. So to get more value for Brown than Wagner, Celtics would have to hope for limited teams bidding, one team has the perfect storm in value. Meaning, they a) desire Brown as missing piece to winning, b) have assets other than their own late 1sts to offer, c) confidence Brown will re-sign.
