Curry even with a bad 2nd half is getting 5 stars. He's next level right now. I get what you're saying but the second you made the trade I knew we were doomed at least for 2 years. Now it's looking like 3 lol.

Don't forget he currently holds the 2nd most ping pong balls in the Wembanyama sweepstakes.

One of my favorite GM minds. Depalama folks! Very patient, yet strategic. Don't sleep on him.

It seems that I have problems against teams with good point guards. When I face on, Dejounte gets into foul trouble or fouls out completely and I lose a vital cog.

Perhaps I need to move away from attack defense and keep him on the court.

At the end of the day, I can't knock anyone's hustle. MPH got the deal done and won a chip. We could've slowed him down, but he arguably got stronger. Don't forget he let Mikal walk and pulled off a crazy deal for Herbert. He traded Haliburton and got Bane, and while doing all of this he's managed his draft capital really well. EB often refers to me as the "best GM in the game", but imo the best GM is whoever holds that trophy until one of us takes it. Right now it's Harris until proven otherwise

You can make the case for MP to be the best executive, but I don't think winning the title makes you the best GM, just like in real life where winning the title does not make you the best executive in the league.

Winning the title means you have the best players right now. To me making the best out of minimal assets makes you the best and you have that done hands down. Hell you're the only person where you consistently win trades and make something out of nothing. MPH is more of an asset piler with an eye for cap management which is great but requires a lot of losing for asset gathering. You and Smash are more Spurs like in your approach to the sim.

Yeah anyone that gave out a $400+ contract that didn't first offer it to all the top 5 players (Durant, Embiid, Jokic, Curry, and LeBron) fumbled tremendously.

Ehhhhh Durant got poached for $475 and Embiid and Jokic would've cost over $500 to poach. LeBron is old and a 3year was in the $500 range for poaching. The only one that really slipped through the cracks was Curry and his ranking is decisively not Top 5. But why tie yourself up with a loser bid at $400? It was $500 or go home basically. A correct bid for Curry started at about $430. That probably would have knocked mpharris off the scent because it moves his needle towards $400 on a 5yr.

I wish it had happened so that dastardly mpharris didn't get him again but it would have set me back to do it. Even with a kinda wack ranking I have no regrets on grabbing Brown where I did.

I'm talking top 5 guys in the sim. Tatum is top 5 IRL, but underrated in the sim so far. Hopefully they get him right next year.

And I said if you offered anyone over $400 and didn't toss that money at the top 5 guys you were slacking. Didn't necessarily say that's the minimum you should've started at. I sent in a ton of bids I expected to get overwritten for top players, Demar was like 8th on my first signing list lol.

LeBron was an overall 4 last year and hasn't won **** yet. He is definitely not Top 5 in the Sim. Curry has kinda come and gone as well though definitely hit the mark with MPH.

Bidding strategy really ranges. Some people splatter bid like you did and some will go incrementally. I sent bids I expected to win and got my guys. I had a pretty specific team I expected to walk out with and most think it's pretty good.

And LeBron was bad in the sim last year but I was expecting him to be overrated in the sim offensively this year and he probably was. Sure he hasn't won much in the sim but that has a lot more to do with his contract. I didn't bid on any of them either. I wanted to bring back Murray so wasn't about 2 splurge on another guard and while I would have loved Embiid or Jokic, they were in the hands of two guys with higher free agent rankings then me and could go 5 years. I would have to go way North of $500 and I really couldn't afford to tie up money on such a long shot. I needed to make 1 full value stab at "my guy" which was AD (who I had valued as a 5 star guy) so that if I took a shot and miss, I could still jump back in on keeping DeMar.
