I felt like crying, and had the worst pit in my stomach like a relative had died. No franchise in sports history has suffered more than we have.

THIS was played during games 1 and 2 in Arizona. Pathetic? I know.

A.J. maybe you don't have to come on this board and make fun of our team. There was no excuse your almost completely healthy team (missing Adam Everett) could not do better. That being said if you guys don't get better pitching, you'll just have the same if not worse season.

He said one comment that most of us thought was out of line, but then apologized. You have to let it go. I know you're disappointed that the Cubs lost, believe me I know, but taking out the aggression on a few posters on a message board won't help. AJ didn't really do anything that bad.

You can't compare the Astros' or Rockets suffering to us. The Astros made it to the World Series a couple of years ago, and the Rockets have a good team. Plus, basketball can't give you as good of a personal connection to fans as baseball can. The Cubs never make the playoffs or win. I feel like **** year round every season. The Cubs have **** with me ever since I was born.

Brewer fans have almost the same feeling as Cubs fans, we have no championship, only 2 playoff appearances (1982,1981).

At least you guys made the playoffs, I know it's tough now but you guys played well all season and most of you are great fans.

Hope to see you guys in the post season next year with the Brewers.

Look at these pathetic, low-class fans:

What pisses me off is that guy that came in here in April saying Cub fans care more about the Sox than their own team.
This thread proves otherwise. 7 pages about Cubs get swept. We won 20+ more games than their pathetic team.

ok... so i go to school in st. louis and today i was wearing my cubs nl central champs shirt today.... two guys stopped me in the street and made fun of the fact that the cubs lost the series.... was at a bowling alley later that night and one of the owners/ guys setting up the function got on the loudspeaker and said "Who here is sad the cubs lost...? No one? I didn't think so... Oh well another 96 years before they win the world series..."

Seriously, you wouldn't think so w/ cardinal fans... but they are threatened by the cubs (even though they have won the central the majority of the time)... i don't know if its the abundance of cubs fans that come to busch stadium... or maybe its that st louis is a **** city compared to chicago... but they seem to really take an interest in how the cubs are doing...

Maybe you'll win next year.

I'm a sox fan, but I was rooting for the Cubs this year. I've never understood the mentality of the "You can only root for one of them" fan. It just seems ignorant to think that if you root for one of them, that hoping the other does well somehow makes you less of a fan.

I'm not going to lie, when the Sox won the world series, I cried tears of joy. The feeling of elation was just so overwhelming. I would love for most of my friends (the vast majority are cubs fans) to get that same feeling.

I was surprised with how high hopes for the Cubs seemed to run in the national media. Most of my Cub fan friends seemed to think they only had a punchers chance, but it seemed like the national media wanted to make them favorites just because it would be the best story if they won.
