Weren't you two the biggest anti Smart posters a year or two ago? You tend to be such a sky is falling, prisoner of the moment fans. Relax. He's a bench player, who can and has won games for Boston.

What has smart got anything to do with this? If you’ve been here long enough, then you’ll know that most of us love smart and thinks he’s a vital part of this team, and that had been established already.
Weren’t you the biggest troll who just joined us in the bubble to troll this team???? By your wording, you probably ain’t a celtic fan. 500 posts in almost 3 years??? Really? and you accuse us of this hahahaha! Gtfoh

No, I don't think I will. And don't know what bubble trolling you are talking about. Feel free to show quotes. Stop being a prisoner of the moment.

And I don't understand the problem with my post count. Because I don't live on here and cry every time the Celtics lose? Or that I don't think a player should be traded after some bad games?

Yeah but what's the explanation for his layups and floaters

His shooting is brutal. He is a great role player when he is shooting like at the start of the season but that was just a hot streak.

He is a terible shooter and his career % show that... that is just not good enough for how the basketball is played ATM...

Brad was hoping his shooting would improve with better players around him but that has not been the case...

He is certainly expandable but I doubt Brad will trade him after just 1 year... we can only hope he gets hot in the playoffs...

I am guessing it is now a mental issue... When one part of the game breaks down it affects other parts..

Cry evey time the celtics lose???? Hahahha obviously you haven’t been around much coz you don’t know **** about this board. Half of this board cries when the celtics lose lol. That’s what makes this board so interesting and fun. Unlike you, would just come in here and accuse posters of something you know nothing about. Just continue to cheer on the sides like the cheer leader you are, or continue to lurk like a troll Brian lol. Whatever i don’t care!

Derrick doesn't have great touch. It is what it is. At age 28, it's probably not going to get much better. But he does show flashes here and there of being able to hit some mid range j's and floaters and is usually pretty good at the rim..

And he's still shooting 37.6% from 3 on the season, which is above the league average.

We all know that we didn't get him for his shooting - he's very good at everything else.

Those expecting "consistency" on scoring from role players will forever be disappointed. They're role players for a reason. Even Brogdon who was a 20-pt scorer and who was supposed to be our 3rd best scorer has had his off nights. This is especially true for a team that already has two high usage, high attempt stars. There's just not enough touches/shots to go around (especially in games where ball movement is MIA).

Brad acquired White and Brogdon so that along with Horford, Grant, Hauser, PP, Rob, when a couple of these guys don't have it any particular night, the others hopefully step up. This recent skid where everyone suddenly can't buy a basket is an anomaly. OTOH, we've seen what they can do when they're firing on all cylinders.

IDK, but the haters aren't gonna like this..

He's tied with Ja Morant for 6th in the league in +/-. White is 2nd on the Celtics in +/-, only behind Tatum.

I mean he's a role player, but he's a dang good role player for us and the disrespect he gets here after a cold stretch is not justified.

No Five Starters can Win a Championship.
You need Elite Bench Players. -- White and Brogdon, (etc.) were Starters, and are now coming off the Bench.

Since White got a haircut, he's putting up 13/4/4/.5/1.5 on 69% TS% and is a team-high +69 in four games. He's the only Celtic averaging double digit scoring during that span besides the Jays. All wins.

So true….although in the case of White he comes off the bench…..after resting…..after starting.

in '19-20, he shot 36.6% from 3 with SA
in '20-21 he shot 34.6% from 3 with SA
in '21-22 he shot 31.2% from 3 overall (31.4% with SA, 30.4% with us)
this year ('22-23) he's shooting 37.5% from 3 for us

I am not saying he's a GREAT 3 point shooter, but last year's performance is the aberration in his career. We're talking about a player should be 35%+. I think a lot of people characterized him by his outlier bad shooting year last year. There's a big difference between a 35%+ shooter and someone close to 30%.

And he shot 40% from 3 in college, despite the fact that he was playing on a new team and was making the leap from D-II to the Pac-12.
