Vest has to be Cole.

I’d go Franz for the cummerbund for his ridiculous +/- and Paolo for the mittens for that third quarter stretch that started the avalanche.

Cole, Franz, Paolo for me too.

I feel like Paolo didn't even bother getting out of first gear but still ended up with 18/6/4

I'll forgive Paolo for the 1 FTA since he went 3-6 from 3.

I watched most of the replay and Cole is still a step too slow on pick and roll defense. He tries so hard but I just don't see a way for him to be a starter in this league. Hmm.

This would tie him with Fultz. One behind Suggs.

I hate how Cole cares about his stats so much. Anyone else notice how he passes it to a teammate during the last possession every single time to avoid the 24 second turnover to go to him?

Cole doesn't play defense. He had a very efficient night on the offensive end of the floor and that's it. 5 fouls and 3 turnovers. He got 10 of the whole teams 44 rebounds. Something about that is alarming to me. I'm not a Cole hater cause I do like him but he is only a team positive when his shot is falling. And that style of play has gotta get him scoring 30 plus points before he deserves a sweater. Honestly I was more impressed by admiral Schofields play last game. Dude came in in the 3rd or 4th quarter for a short stretch and he had a couple buckets, a couple boards, a steal and he got fouled like 3 times all in like a 5 or 6 minute stretch. Huge play by a guy on a 2 way deal.

Anyways good thing is Cole's streaky so he should have another 5 or 6 good games before he goes back into tross jr mode

Cole is doing fine. He's working things out.

I will say he seems to be the odd man out of the pecking order. A year ago I said he should be the last non-core guy we consider trading because he brought such a great vibe and energy to the team. Now the whole team seems to be jelling so it's not as crucial anymore. He's the guy closest to his second contract so he's getting a little antsy.

We'll just have to see where it goes.

Yes yes yes. It f***ing blows my mind how selfish his style of play is to jack up a 3 pointer with 20 seconds on the clock but when it's down to 3 and a forced shot would be acceptable he acts like he's playing hot potato and screws over the team with a shot clock violation. At least a brick becomes a chance for a loose ball and retaining possession and hey if he's such a good shooter and he's got such a scorers mentality shouldn't he love those opportunities??? But no. His play is selfish. Its Cole first not magic first.

Maybe not to the stats but as the coach you'd have to know who let the ball get turned over without letting it even hit the rim within the 24 second shot clock.

Point is this happens far to often with Cole and it's not because he got the ball 1 second prior. He's horrible with clock management. Hope he works on it because everytime he gives a teammate the ball with the shot clock ready to go off they are the one that look like a fool in front of the entire arena not Cole. That style of play doesn't instill confidence and belief in the team.

“Obviously, he was flirting on the triple-double, but the one thing I love the most is he didn’t chase a stat,” Magic coach Jamahl Mosley said. “He respected the game and just went after what we needed to win.”

It was a freaking blowout win and Cole had contributed the most to it. He played way above the role he is assigned to, whatever personal issues you may have with him. Cole is far from ideal, thus not a starter, but he will mature into a offensive bench player plug any team needs. I said he is drafted to replace DJ Augustin and he is quite successful at it on most nights.

Decades of losing got to a fans as well as the team, we stopped caring about wins and instead started focusing on next-great-thing coming from draft treating some of them as personal favorites and others as competition. Get a grip, folks. We seem to be back in business of playing basketball at long last. Sooner you get out of that transe, more you'll enjoy it.

I mean it was a pretty historic stat line he posted and he kept the Magic in front of SA practically all the way. He tries so hard, you can't fault him for effort and 9 assists attest that he's no longer a me-first player in any shape.

He's abysmal at getting around screens. He looks so stiff-hipped and clunky trying to do it. He needs to figure that aspect out because he's just giving the ball handler a free route into the paint. But again, he doesn't lack effort.

There are a lot of players I'd be putting a line through on this roster before Cole, even though some of you have written him off. If i traded him, I'd be expecting pretty good positive value from him.

I couldn't overlook F-Wagners plus/minus line. That is vestibule to me.
Anthony for the cummerbund in that he was efficient.
M-Wagner for the mittens in his domination of Poeltl.

Single game +/- isn't a huge factor though tbh, especially when others are positive as well. It's nice but I'd say Cole single handedly saved us. 0 rebounds for Wagner and worse shooting shouldn't get it over someone with a historic night (according to Statmuse at least, but I digress!) It's personal opinion after all.
